| If Brian Mac was such an issue and upsetting all the big names in the squad i find it hard to believe that he wouldn't be the man being moved on as opposed to half a dozen of the team, especially considering the dire position we are currently in.

| Quote: Trouble Darn T Lane "Since i posted this
I have asked several people who's opinions i respect and they all reckon that Gale will be a Rhino next season
Regarding the Rob Burrow link to joining Cas they reckon that it all depends on who is head coach at the Rhinos in 2017
I don't want to see Gale'y go as IMO he is the best HB in SL but i can't see him not rejoining his boyhood club unfortunately for 2017'"
From what I here he has a lot of passion for cas but sees Leeds as an oppurtunity he can't miss.
On your comment Biff, that depends on who you consider a 'big name' these days, at a tender age burrows certainly isn't the asset he once was, all be it he can still do a certain job, but he certainly isn't 'needed'

30462.jpg [b:3oz7jfnu]Wigan Warriors coach Shaun Wane told BBC Radio Manchester:
"Some people within the club [Castleford] have come out with comments saying we're beatable and it's a great game for them and they're very confident.
Many of the comments I've heard have been bordering on disrespectful.
They can be as confident as they want, but they're going to get a tough game this weekend and we'll be trying our best to make sure they don't get that win.
We've played in some big games over these last few years and they've not played in as many, if any, so to be that confident is very risky for them.
They come here with confidence because they've scored a lot of points and beaten us at home, but I wouldn't be overconfident if I was them."

If Mac is still in charge of the Rhinos next season then several players with contract options on the table wont be there if these clubs interested carry out their interest to the next level and actually back up their offers to the club with a deal that suits all parties
On another note,I forgot to mention that the Rhinos want Gale irrespective of who is head coach for 2017

Correct
If Rhinos pursue their interest then Gale will definitely go

| I would still consider Burrow a big name, i know he is getting on but the way Burrow plays you could see him going on for another 2-3 good years yet and we all know what he can produce in big games, he does it time and again.
That said, if we could get Gale coming the other way it is not something i would necessarily against happening.

I'd love to see gale at Leeds but would be very disappointed to see Burrow go the other way. Appreciate powers may be on the wane but he's a special player and still has plenty to offer from bench Imo. Guys who can win you grand finals don't come along very often and you should keep as long as you can for my money.

| What I also didn't chip in with my post (mainly because I'd see it as bizarre given our current position) is that his ommitance last week wasn't down to injury and was more down to their relationship, but as stated I'd find that extreme.
I agree with you both he can do a job BUT he's not irreplaceable and putting two and two together he could well be one of the two mentioned in this thread that asked to leave but we're trying to convince to stay, if that is the case though, I'd be intrigued to see who is going if gale, because I don't imagine us having McGuire, lilley, sutcliffe, gale and burrow (even if seen as hooker) position switch for sutcliffe? Or lilley out on loan until McGuire retires? If nobody were to leave

| Furthermore, what I also find shocking is that it's alledged we won't be offering Moon a new contract, which would be a MASSIVE loss for us as I see it.

I know he's on contract until 2018 btw but I think he wants an improved deal.

That wouldnt be unusual as its happened on plenty of occasions. BMcD holds grudges and can be petty

| If Gale does come Cas can take their pick of Burrow, McGuire and Sutcliffe. Simply not good enough.
Saying that if we get relegated would Gale want to come to Leeds I think not.
It is now a real possibility we could go down.

Surprise surprise, not a dicky bird.
Here's an idea frosties, either name your source, the actual news itself...or just shut up.
Credibility is gone.

I'm sure Frosties posted in good faith on what he had heard ( as he had with the Brierley saga. Cough! ) ....and it all makes for a more entertaining forum. It would be a hell of a lot more boring if the likes of Frosties didn't contribute their grapevine stories....even if they do turn out to be a pile of shiite. !!!!
The problem is it is only a forum for a bunch of nobodies (apart from me and maybe Printer of course) so why the excessive subterfuge at times in these days of twitter and social media?
If you're worried about breaking a confidence then you have already done that by posting anything at all that initiates the rumour mill in the first place.....surely?

| The problem with this stuff is the certainty with which some people post what are clearly rumours/general chatter. Others then go too far in questioning whether they actually know the real goings on behind the scenes, which leads to a defensive response from the original poster. And on and on it then rolls.
The rumours are part of the fun. If people would say things with less certainty there wouldn't be a problem.

Bingo!!!
Nobody really gets ridiculed for sharing rumours they've heard, unless they're claiming them as 'fact' or 'from the horses mouth' or any other term to make it sound 'in the know' - like you say, it's the degree of certainly that some individuals try and portray.
They'd have more credibility if they shared the info and gave the reasons why they thought its credible. Then, if and when it either does or doesn't come off, they can comment on how it all eventually played out.
The problem is, some people desperately want to look 'in the know', so throw out the rumours as certainties, with caveats like 'but I can't say where it's come from or who it involves' and 'it might never come out in public', and then when nothing appears, they give no further comment...
It's all good fun though!
