He's a one trick pony if ever I saw one.

By comparison that’d make Leeds’ wingers no trick pony’s. Very good winger and a strange assessment that one.

The one trick is that he can finish tries, he is also pretty good at high balls and coming out of defence... all good markers for a winger, this years exposure for him has helped but that happens all the time

Makinson is the very definition of a committed player. He's not particularly quick, not particularly strong, not particularly evasive, but is very committed which lifts him above the level of many of his peers.

He's no Martin Offiah, but he's a very decent player.

What a silly comment. He has been the best winger in our competion by a mile for last couple of years. Granted, mainly because Manfredi has been out injured, but he has been well ahead of everyone else, and far above a one trick pony.

Is this a typo?

Team mates and opposition players have commented on how strong he is in attack when trying to tackle him. And you only have to look at the mid-season and autumn tests to see how quick, strong and evasive he is in try scoring positions and getting out of yardage.

Wow is this a wind up? He's top quality.

Not a typo. What I'm trying to say is that he plays above his weight and strength. His commitment leads him to win collisions that his size alone wouldn't. I wouldn't say he's any more evasive than most other wingers, but he's a lot more committed than most, which means he makes more of opportunities that come his way than others would.

He's a good player, but he's not a Ryan Hall at his peak, nor is he as good as Jerry McGilivray now in my opinion. It's a shame for Leeds that Tom Briscoe doesn't show the application and commitment of Makinson more often.

He's a bog standard winger. Certainly no better than the top 15-20 NRL wingers.
