| Quote Clearwing="Clearwing"Tend to agree though with less involvement in internationals and a better fitness and conditioning regime we might be luckier with injuries than of late. There'll likely be a couple of sides whose hopes are torpedoed, let's hope we're the ones taking advantage.'"
I don't honestly think conditioning has too much to do with the type of injuries we've been getting. Watkins' knee for example? Maybe with one or two cases, but most were some kind of impact/structural damage which is just luck of the draw.
The thing with SL sides is that their squad quality thins out much more quickly than NRL sides after the top 17 or so, meaning injuries might have a more telling effect on a SL team over a season. It's a bit of a lottery really: if the current Leeds squad stays injury-free they could go quite well next year still. I totally agree we still need a 1st grade/starting quality impact prop though - although very optimistic about Oledzki, Holroyd and Dupree for a year or two in future.

Take your point, though I also meant the kind of injuries that players have been soldiering on with too. I hope I'm wrong but I reckon we're looking at another close season of rebuilding yet before we're where we want to be - more a case of hoping that we get a bit of good fortune this year to help us along...

Definitely and there is obviously the new coach fresh start effect that will hopefully work in our favour. I just look at our squad as is and comparing it to the rest i would say Saints, Warrington and Cas are certainly stronger and will likely occupy the top 3. Then you have Wigan who may drop off a bit but you would still expect top 4. That leaves us Catalans, Wakey, Hull and Hudds all fighting it out for 5-9 spots and i don't think there is a great deal between all 5 of those squads.
It is going to be interesting next year though, i'm glad they have gone away from the super 8s and brought back the 5 team play off should see far better ends to the regular rounds.

'" Good signing for us, doesn't break the bank which means more cash for Edwards in 2020, unlike you lot who seem to be throwing massive amounts of cash at players, You laugh at us signing Sammut yet if it goes tits up we haven't really lost that much unlike when it goes tits up with NRL failure Hurell

| At the risk of being controversial I think sammut is a decent signing for Wigan. He won't start many games but he does have that off the cuff factor that can make or break in close games. Definitely gives you something different off the bench.

Unless it p155es off the talented half backs already at Wigan who thought that they were moving up the pecking order when Sam left?
With Wigan signing Sammut then where does this leave Powell,Leuluai,Williams,Escare,Woods,Shorrocks & Smithies ?
That seems like a squad top heavy on half backs IMO

Powell & Leuluai sharing Hooker role
Escare is not a Half back
Williams and The fantastic Sammut 6 & 7
That leaves the young guns to pick up the odd game off the bench like they have been doing
It's not rocket science
If any player spoils the order of things then it's Snorty McGhee at Fullback, would rather have just gone with Escare
