| The Cribs were amazing on Thursday night, Johnny Marr has really given something to their sound. "Hari Kari" will be a huge hit when they release it.

| To extend a debate currently taking place on ITV teletext music letters page, who do you think counts as the band of the Noughties?
It's hard to speak of one band who really defined the decade, or even two or three.
Girls Aloud is about the closest, or maybe the White Stripes.

It is an hard one. I’d chuck in the likes of My Chemical Romance & Fall Out Boy for the EMO’s. The Killers have some classic hits along with Kings of Leon.
But really I think GA is the best choice because it has been the decade of reality tv.

| I don't wanna walk the line of music snobbery, but if GA are the best representation of the naughties then its a sad day. Damo's point is very valid, it has been a decade of reality tv junk. I'm not gonna lie, I can't any of it. As we speak, on 3 disc shuffle, I have, Creedance Clearwater Survival, Free (both best of's) and Ray LaMontagne's first disc. Stick yer plastic pop.

I don’t mind some pop and do have some tunes on my ipod that will have people pointing they fingers at me and laughing. I think the likes of X Factor although they have always been the like around (someone help me on this) its over glorifying cruise ship singers.
Who still has Steve Brookstein on their play lists?
Who bothers with Shane Ward these days (once tipped as the English Justin Timberlake)?
And that Scottish women?
Ray Quinn even (although I will admit I saw him live and he does have a fantastic voice)?
People watched and breathe shows like the x Factor. Its just Ant and Decs Saturday Night Takeaway with a better marketing plan to make more money IMO and its ruining music!

I mean the number of boy-bands (to my knowledge) knocking about these days must be very low. Just the Usual Suspects. Reality 'stars' increase, boybands decrease. It's not hard to work out. The cheese fodder is still the same, just branded and packaged a little differently. This shameless end of the industry has been around years and will continue to do so I suspect. The reality aspect has breathed fresh life into their cause. It's not all doom and gloom, there's a lot of quality bands around the world, its just a shame that low end pop and 'coffee shop' singers seem to stamp on originality and raw ability. Winge over.
