Likewise was it her fault how the Gleeson scandal was handled?
As for poor signings most of the ones you are now lauding as good players were signed under her regime and as for coaches Kear won you a CC did he not?
Mcrae did ok but had to leave and Sharp took you to a GF as for backing Agar again was that soley down to her?
A lot of blame laid at her door which she had little or no control over but then again it's easy to blame her rather than admit the whole club made mistakes and aren't as big or as good as you lot think you are.'"
KH was in charge and cookes contract wasnt signed...She appointed Agar and backed him all the way, even though the results was terrible and the brand of rugby dished up.She was Chairwoman/owner so why wasnt she held responsible? We have known for 4 yrs we arent any good...2 bottom 2 finishes and a whimper in the play-offs prove that.Pearson said the club was ran as a bottom 4 club with the facilities etc,etc......end of the day,we are gradually improving week in week out and it will take us time to climb up again......How long did it take for you to get where you are.

From our perspective, we seem to have little difficulty in sourcing players good enough to win trophies. TBH I'd rather experience the excitement of seeing a new young player develop than re-signing a face from the past, however good.'"
And so would we....we have already played 3 this season in Nicklas,Bowden and Jamie Ellis and that is 3 more than Agar ever did...he just didnt play the young ones and switched players rd all over the place.Kent and Crooks have also been part of the 19 man squad and have a young winger in Lineham who is looking very good.

| Quote: craigizzard "Obviously it's a good signing, but Hull need to sort out their youth policy if they want sustained success. There's been a complete underdevelopment of local players given the amount of them there must be in the area. You have a good back row now, but they're all bought in and that's not sustainable. Compare to Leeds, Wigan and St.Helens, who not uncoincidentally have been getting to all the finals.'"
Fair comment - we are starting to develop our youngsters now. Unfortunately, despite having some good young lads, the previous regime preferred to keep them separate from the first team and to bring in loans if spots in the matchday side needed filling (Broughton, McShane etc). As I said things are changing slowly, but Bowden and Nicklas have made their debuts this year and Kent and Crooks have been in the 19 a couple of times, so we're getting there.

| Oh even as a leeds fan how I laugh. Done deal in January I believe, good sources they say as well. I'll never reveal my source but he or she is always bang on the money.
FWIW the stumbling block with the Leeds approach was the contract length we offered. We werent willing to offer three years. it wa 2 years with an option to a third. Also Hull offered a litle bit more moohlah

The Cooke debacle was instigated by him and HKR wasn't it?
Surely KH like everyone else at your club trusted his word when he verbally agreed the deal other han hold a gun to his head and make him sign there and then what could she alone have done?
We've built up over years of laying the foundations within the whole club structure and within the acadamy set up.
Plus we had numerous amounts of exemplory work by numerous individuals nor did we have an owner come in and tell anyone and everyone that we were gonna do this that and the other and get to the top.
As for the slowly building many on here have pointed that out and highlighted that Ellis alone won't get you up there and have you challenging every year whereas some of your lot find that hard top accept and see it as some kind of arrogance ,bitterness or jealousy.
I'll also add you are soon losing T.Briscoe to the NRL are you not? If/when that occurs it seems you make 1 step forward and 2 back.

Fair points but Pearson has overhauled the clubs academy completely and we should see some benefits of it,we have already debuted young players this season.Pearon has just said what his ambition is for the club and sooner hear that than the silence from previous board.I know its a building process and am prepared for that.As for Briscoe, good luck to him for wanting to prove himself over there...unlike TWBW,who wants to stay here ...Briscoe is good but not great like others tend to say and we may promote Lineham from U-20S so isnt that a good thing.

| If Hull win something with Ellis, he'll be credited as playing a major role in turning around their fortunes.
If Ellis came back to Leeds, to be part of yet another title winning side, he'll just be another good player in a long line of good players, playing second fiddle to the likes of Sinfield et al. who have been there for the duration of the successful period. Ellis was also part of that in the past as well - going to Hull is more of a fresh challenge.
More scope for individual glory at Hull IMO, assuming he's not being offered more money as the reports claim.

I know barrie Mc has rated many of your younger players for a while so maybe this coach will blood them.
Re-Briscoe it is fair play to him we had the same thing with Morley and then Ellis but now with the likes of Watkins ,Bjb ,WBW etc we are keeping them here and building an enviroment they don't want to leave.

Was that actually offered to Ellis? or was that what was requested in talks?
Like I said earlier, from a reliable source, Leeds never got round to actually offering a contract to Ellis.
Maybe they felt because of the contract length it was not worth pursuing? Hardly here or there really though.

| Well I suppose when they've had nothing much else to cheer about,So cheering their chairman and thumbing their noses at the 5times sl champions after they beat them to the signature of one of their ex players will have to do.For now?

| As far as balance goes I think Griffin is a better signing for our squad than Ellis would be in the back row.

| Didn't Ellis express a desire to return to a Yorkshire club? did Hull offer the highest salary of all the Yorkshire clubs?

| Well, I stand by my earlier posts, I'd have been happy to have him back, but not devastated not to.
Whatever the offers (salary, other perks, contract lengths) obviously Hull made more sense for him, and presumably their offer made sense for them. Win win.
I think he's a cracking player (still would rather have JJB - which I said well before he signed for Hull before anyone starts, check the thread) and I agree with Hull fans saying it is a statement of intent/ambition from them.
Well done to Hull and Ellis, I can only wish him well after his performances for Leeds, and I think it'll be a good signing for a club that seems at the moment to be heading in the right direction after a disappointing few years.
