Not sure why/how some of our fans get this sort of attitude?

If someone of Widdop's calibre is available, as a club you should do all you possibly can to try and sign them - as I've mentioned before

It's not as simple as that - this isn't Fantasy RL. I'd love to sign Widdop, but as Tad points out, there's this thing called the salary cap. And as others have pointed out, our priorities surely lie elsewhere, and we already have players in Widdop's position. Not that I'd mind if we *could* fit him in, but that would surely need us to move on more than the likes of Mullally, Walters and Ormondroyd

Not when he isn’t needed. We have a new standoff who could play fullback but then again we have two good young players there.

I’d love it if we signed widdop. Sign him for 2020 and pay off myler. These opportunities for this standard of player don’t come around too often. Build the team around him.

Shaun Johnson could be available for a year before signing for the Roosters. Although, with Widdop wanting out, Johnson will probably end up at St George.
Apparently, Widdop is homesick. Is he referring to Melbourne or Halifax? He has 3 years left on his contact, and is reportedly on £600k a year, so I'm assuming Warrington are the only club with the war chest for that kind of salary.

Johnson needs a 1yr deal as he's signed with a club for 2020 onwards.
