Yorkshire RU have signed 6 ft 4, 17 stone winger elijah Niko from french rugby union. Started his career in league, played for the NZ warriors team that won the 2010 toyota cup, won queensland cup winger of the year in 2011 and cameron smith once descibed him as the next Isreal Folou. Wonder if we'l be keeping an eye on him, mayb have a few training runs with us.

His pedigree 7/8 years ago looked good, star on the rise.

Since then he has bounced around a bit. He has scored tries wherever he has been but he looks like a bit later of a project and we need to move away from that mindset.

Also, while easier for a back, the fitness need is different in Union than league and he has been in Union years now.

Is there not some cap exemption rule that applies to signings that are made direct from RU?

If we end up going for widdop which I doubt I could see lolohea moving on to the wing just outside koni as that combo has already been done in their careers.

Think widfop ship has sailed, we could have done with him in 2016. Not bothered now, mcClennan and academy prospects are the future.
