Quote: rotherhamrhino "At the risk of opening a can of worms!

If we wake up on Friday morning and the nation has decided (incorrectly in my opinion), that we are better off out of Europe will this have any impact on the approach taken by the RFL.

For example we keep getting told by the 'leave' lot that leaving would make us stronger and mean we can set up trading arrangements with the important countries of the world (America and China). If this is the case and we leave the EU will this mean a strategic shift by the RFL to try to bring a US side or Chinese side into the Super league. In a few years time we might be playing against the Washington weasels or the Beijing beavers! Might be quite interesting that.

if the outcome is remain then at least all the dragons players won't spend half their training times filling out visas. I assume this might actually be the case as they would effectively be earning money undertaking their employment at least some of the time in the uk. Hate to think what a headache it is going to be for all the premiership football players from Europe who suddenly have to prove under a points based entry system that they are able to come here to work.'"

Quote: ThePrinter "Well said. Whilst I admit I edged to remain in the end I was 50/50 for a long time so I have no problem with the result. The dummy spitting coming out from remainers though in the last few hours on social media is cringeworthy though and they want to convince themselves that everyone who did vote leave must be some sort of Jeremy Kyle wannabe unemployed racist.'"

don't usually agree with you but this time yes. now it's a leave vote we are all racist and thick. apparently all on the remain side are the only ones who are bright enough to understand and weigh up any implications

I see that neither Printer, Juan, nor the obviously delirious Sal, are willing to talk like normal human beings on this thread so I'll leave it there.

This is how I see it too!
The mainline media and social media are accusing all 'outers' of being racist, right wing, ignorant idiots. Being called a racist is the worst insult anyone could throw at me. I want to welcome those escaping real and dangerous conflict in all parts of the world and others who genuinely seek better lives for their family and will work hard for it. We cannot do without people like this in the NHS and elsewhere. I do not want to be forced to accept criminals and undesirables simply because the EU says we must. That is not racist - it is a matter of ethics and morality, culture not racism. IMO that is at the heart of the rejection I hear from many. I voted out and I am happy to see that the majority have had their say and the fraud, corruption and financial mismanagement that threads through EU bureaucracy is now more likely to be exposed. We need to ensure that the rights of workers and other benefits/legislation, that came about by being of being part of the EU, are protected, but the rest of the stranglehold is now broken. That can only be good, although the 'money giants' , financial gamblers and purse string holders will be jumping up and down for some while. I think we all know, sadly, where the real power lies, but they are shaking in their boots this morning.

Trouble is everyone I know bar one or two who voted out are racist and thick, most people's argument is purely based on phoney nationalism and immigration.

How exactly do we ensure that the good stuff that came about through EU membership is protected?
Having Boris as PM and Michael Gove as Chancellor?
Why would anything about the EU now be exposed?
How is it good for anyone if those with the real power are shaking in their boots?
