| Quote: ArthurClues "Way too early to judge any of the NRL guys. As Smith said in his presser, it's a massive culture shock for them. Mud, rain and gale force winds and a fan base with little to no patience. It's a wonder any of them come to a country who hasn't really managed a meaningful challenge at international level in half a century. They'll all get better as the weeks go by.'"
Most of them come because they can't get a gig over there or are at the back end and it is a better pay day or easier game over here

It was in 78th Minute, they were comparing to the one that Percival got sent off for, but honestly it's nonsense. Ian Smith the former referee commented that it was nothing at all, Lomax (I think) was tackled by two Leeds players, Croft from the front, and he crumbled in the tackle. Play On.

That's undeniably true. And given that we know that, you'd think the expectation would not be so great.

Surprised at no ban then, given Lomax is generally taken at his word in these cases.

There appears to be enough about this team to learn though execution is, as always, key.

"Leeds is the greatest club in Rugby League"
Alex Murphy 2011: |
|
| I’ll judge him in a Leeds shirt not what he’s done before. Quote: christopher "
Don’t you see how inconsistent your reasoning has become. You’re telling us we’ll be fine with Mom because he’s played at some decent clubs, irrespective what kind of start he has made at the Rhinos, yet in the next breath you’re prepared to overlook Frawley’s poor playing history completely. Which one is it ? You can’t reference one’s playing history as a defence and then totally ignore the other one’s .

No, if you read my thoughts in Mom ive said hes been good in a Leeds shirt, but he has decent pedigree in the NRL aswell.
Im not the one bagging new players after round 5

You are often inconsistent in your reasoning Christopher ( as am I) but at least I’m old and dementing!
You have Leeds blinkers , more than anyone I’ve ever chatted to, but you love the club and the game, go home and away and are incredibly loyal. Bet your a great family man too

| Quote: Clearwing "Totally unrealistic levels of expectation on Frawley imo.
Hopes that an organising player will just slot in and control the game would be optimistic whichever team they played for. Safe to say, in a team like ours with minimal reliance on practiced moves, it's almost guaranteed to be an entirely new role to him. Anyone would be struggling to stamp their mark five games in. And yes, his kicking hasn't been the best but he's playing behind a pack with one genuine starting prop.
It'll come but this really is still very very early days.'"
Matt Moylan bucking that trend never been here before and taken to superleague like a duck to water.

I would say Molyan is the best quality player signed from the NRL for this season, and I enjoy watching him play. However, his team had three losses and no wins prior to the rout of Hull. If he played in the blue and amber he'd already be past it, lazy, soft - and my personal favourite - over here for the money.

Looks like you won’t accept any criticism of an Australian Leeds player . We have had some superb Australian players over the years, unfortunately we have had some some spectacular failures. But that isn’t just confined to Australian players , like any other club we have successfully signings and failures including home grown talents. Most posters on here are reasonable and fair minded, but if we see a player not up to standard it’s only natural to have an opinion on the matter. That after all is what this forum is designed for.

Don't be daft. Our last few forays into the NRL market have been pretty disastrous. Sezer, Austin, Tetavano, and Fusitua ( through injury) were all really poor. But I'll give the current lot more than five weeks before I start nit picking. Collectively they have improved us so far, and they'll get better.

| My opinion of our O/S players:
Miller (keep, but hope he can also defend as well as attack)
Fusitua (injured too much, replace)
Momirovski (will be a good solid player when he finds his feet, no preaseason so understandably behind)
Croft (sensational, the most exciting half we have had in years)
Frawley (I'm concerned he's not up to it for a club like ours, but too early to really tell yet)
Martin (Best kicker in the league and a good player in the backs or pack)
Lisone (would like to see him play for longer, but is OK when he's on the pitch)
