| So it should be.
I do honestly think we need to temper some of the more outlandish statements from sections of the fanbase but after years of false dawns etc who can blame them.
The usual suspects will be there or thereabouts, Goons look strong, Stains will always be in with a sniff and as above who knows wrt Warrington (apart from they wont win the big one) should be a very entertaining and strong league.

| What GH has put together for next season is a delectable medley of creativity, power, pace, precision. I dare say Saints and Wigan will be running scared.
Not only are Leeds back, they will win the treble. No one else comes close.

| That's not the way to support Leeds! Expect the worst at all times is the only way to travel.

| I'm looking forward to 7 or 8 good teams in the league. its been, largely, predictable and dull at times.
I'm looking forward to seeing how smith has leeds play. I'm hoping he has realised what works and what doesn't and plays accordingly.
I'm quietly hoping for a 3rd/4th place finish

| With a completely new spine that would do me.
Competitive and no throwing in the towel / half assed first halves and playing for all of 15 mins a game would also be a landmark improvement.

| Wigan have thrown down the gauntlet. London look like an on-field disaster waiting to happen, Cas look like they're not even attempting to compete at the top end and Salford look obviously weaker, but most sides are at least trying to improve. On the whole it looks like there could be quite a few competitive teams next year.
I'd imagine our style of play will look hugely different. Even just Miller at fullback adds an attacking threat and dynamism in returning the ball that we've lacked since Hardaker in 2015. Anyway, we'll pretty soon see how much of our problems this year were down to the squad vs the coach....

GH is right to single out Miller as a player who could take the competition by storm. Aside from the pace and footwork he'll add from kick returns, it's his willingness to look for gaps from first and second receiver that will be really effective. He played all his NSW Cup games as a Stand Off and that's where he'll be if we have any injury to Croft or Frawley. Think it would take Miller, Croft and Frawley to be out before we faced the prospect of Myler in the halves. That has to be a real step forward.

| Maybe Sinfield is selected ahead of Myler too - if RS rated Myler he wouldn’t have signed 2 new FBs and 2 new HBs since arrival…
Begs the question of whether Myler will get a game in first grade next year but we’ll see. I don’t mind him as FB cover.
The only thing I am fairly sure about is a top half table finish next year for Leeds. Anyone’s guess beyond that.

| if we lose a winger (Fus) to injury thats possibly mylers first opportunity with Miller going to the wing. As much as i want to see him attacking from FB, Myler FB with Miller wing is certainly preferable to Olpherts (has he not gone yet?!)

Think Sinfield is ahead of Myler in the halves. That said, Myler should play quite regularly. If Miller is out he'll be full back. If Croft or Frawley are out, Miller goes to the halves and he's at one. Only if all the Aussies are out would he partner Sinfield at seven, with Edgell filling in at full back. That's what I'd do anyway.

I think you’re right, will be interested with a full pre-season whether Edgell or Lumb might push past Myler for first choice reserve but he is the best candidate right now.
I’m still wondering about our pack and whether we can compete down the middle with the top sides. Still thinking there will be one or two additional departures and maybe one or two more incoming yet.

| Myler has been consistently good for us in recent years, especially at full back. There's not many clubs who can carry that sort of quality of cover for their spine. I'm sure he'll see a decent amount of game time.

| Shouldn't Roberts be in line for a wing spot rather than moving Miller there (which would be an utter waste of his strengths)? Or is Roberts only backup for centre?

Push comes to shove I'd move Martin to centre and Momirovski to the wing. Leave Miller where he can really make a difference.
