| League express reporting a number of high profile players have been told they can leave the club if they would like to. At least five players on the fringes have been told they can leave, including Mullally, Walters and Ormondroyd.

And we are having to wait to move some players on before we can confirm further signings

| Thing don't really add up if I'm honest. There are lots of faces leaving the club so we shouldn't be in a position where we have to wait for someone to leave. Especially with a few who are out of contact.
I can see some people being told they can leave but without someone coming in then we would be weaker. Golding was far from one of our worst players . I just don't see Leeds getting rid of him.

| We no doubt have a couple of signings already done and dusted, but if we want to bring in more quality we have to let players go. In the past I've applauded GH for signing young players with promise on longer term deals, as it meant they weren't poached easily, but if we're honest most of the younger squad players really we've signed in the last couple of years aren't that good, and we've got a big squad with too many championship standard fillers.
The time has come that sort of player we don't want to be told firmly they have no future at Leeds - so leave or go on season loan in the lower leagues and then have no contract, or look for somewhere whilst you still have currency in SL. No more of this hanging around waiting for a chance. Its up to these players to make themselves undroppable, not wait for injuries to sneak a few games. If that means we lose a couple of players who turn out a bit better than we thought, sobeit.

| Am I right in thinking Mullally and Walters were OOC? "Free to leave" would also suggest they have already signed contracts with us or they'd just be released. If so, good to see we are addressing the wrong doings of this year immediately rather than having to put up with it for another couple of years.
In terms of "high profile players", my first question would be do we actually have high profile players anymore!? Interesting to see who falls into that group given it doesn't look like Ablett, JJB etc will be going anywhere for now. Let's be honest, there aren't an awful lot of names in the squad we'd be all that disappointed to lose aside from the likes of Watkins, Walker, Garbutt and a fit Stevie Ward (if we can get that).
I'd be very surprised if we see more than 5 out and the same in tbh but I don't think we have a great deal to lose in terms of team morale and cohesion.

How true it is I don't know but it was from somebody I trust but I was told Mullally had signed a 2 yr deal before Sinfield returned.

Think there was something similar posted on here. I'd be interested to know exactly what the thinking was behind that as it's been pretty clear for a while he was never going to be a world beater for us. Unless there was a genuine belief the squad was up to scratch and he would be a "squad filler". In which case, I'm very glad we got a fresh pair of eyes in mid-season to try and unpick some of the decisions that have been made.

| What`s worrying is that Sinfield either as coach or director decided to pick the likes of Mullally and Walters for the middle 8`s.
Now that was either because he had nobody else to pick even though Smith was available or he rated them.
So maybe Sinfield is/was happy they signed or now realises they made a mistake.
Time will tell over the next few weeks I suppose.

| If the rebuilding had started in 2016 we wouldn't be doing so bad now.
Instead we have spent two years holding on to players that are too old, knackered or poor for no reason.
Now we have to change a lot of players in very little time,if we can't then we will be stuck on playing squad for another year or two which wont help

| Indeed. He did mention "experience beating everything" so possibly felt that those were the best fit to get the job done but looking forward knows they arent good enough so wants to ship them out.
Interesting off season ahead I hope...

Maybe he knows Smith is a keeper, so was given those two (and others) a chance to show their worth, and has now decided they are not.
