| if e would have been for for at least a couple of games its not a problem. however he won't be fit till next season. they may not have cheated the cap but they have certainly circumnavigated it.

Imagine this scenario. Castleford agree to to take the injured Campese on loan for the rest of the season from Hull KR, who will fight out a relegation battle with Wakey. Hull KR then sign a good Aussie half back who plays against and condemns Wakey to relegation from the top flight. Cas gain nothing tangible from the deal but spitefully consign their neighbours to the Championship anyway. Imagine the river of tears from another moaning Wakefield chairman that claims the whole of Rugby League is against them. I've had my fill of Wakefield people moaning about rules, regs, ethics and bias. They have lost any future credibility with this tawdry deal. Come on Cas !

Maybe we should step away from the glass house before throwing those sorts of stones?'"
How many injured players have we sent to clubs to circumvent the salary cap ? How many clubs have "signed" a player that is facked and will never play for them? What a stupid comparison. If clubs are going to join up and form alliances then let's get it out in the open and see who we can "merge" with. Rugby League is becoming the most unethical sport going. How anyone can slag football off when you have seen what has been happening in our own sport is deluded.

They're not first team squad members so would be outside the cap anyway wouldn't they? They're being sent out to develop. (And ones on dual reg are still in the cap if first team players)
This is completely different a player being loaned purely for salary cap reasons when wakey seem to be admitting that he'll not play for them.
From the look of the rules (see my post above) wire can, and probably are, still paying grix's wage, he's having treatment at wire but is counting on wakeys salary cap now so that wire can have sandow. No obvious benefit for wakey tho which is odd.

That is indeed strange...but maybe something yet to be revealed

| The if, buts, and maybes are irrelevant. On 'deadline day' Brian Smith signed an injured player to free up cap space so his brother could sign a pivotal player to push for a top 4 place. It's a disgrace.

Let's see which players Warrington allow to go on loan to Wakefield next season before we pass judgement on them not getting a benefit, shall we?

Thought had crossed my mind... Wouldn't be surprised if wakey have been promised first dibs on wires youngsters next year

| It's not the crime of the century so I won't particularly be getting worked up by it, but it's certainly not in the spirit of the cap or the game.
I'm surprised and disappointed that the RFL have allowed it. I don't see the difference in this or Wigan's attempts a few years back to defer payments on existing contracts in order to sign someone. They rightly copped a punishment.
With the live salary cap now then it shouldn't have been allowed.

| Funny old place SouthStander
GH does his yearly announcement that "this is the best squad ever".........cue loads of "how dare he, squad is nowhere near as good as Year X"
Warrington swerve around the salary cap...."meh, we better not be hypocritical in case we do it too one day"
For all the talk of "would we be as critical if Leeds tried doing it?"......how about flipping it the other way. Would you be as unconcerned if Wire did beat HKR and then defeated us at Wembley and managed to get 4th spot and knock us out of the playoffs with Sandow starring both times? Considering what happened with Bradford in 2005 I doubt it.

I agree if wire had made the cc final and sandow was starting to star for them the reaction would be very different.
Whilst this must have been approved under the live cap surely the RFL won't have had B.Smiths candid comments.

| I don't agree with the cap. So I'm not going to castigate a club if they find a loophole.

Saw that earlier. People can say "oh well loopholes" but what they did was a c**ts trick. If they wanted to make room for Sandow then send someone to Wakey who could actually possibly play and also don't make up b*ll*cks about "he'll continue to be assessed by the Warrington medical staff".

| So if you have players come and do some weights at your club despite not being registered, you get fined.
Ride roughshod all over the spirit of the cap by sending a player on loan you know is never going to play for his loan club (and don't tell me Warrington didn't already know, how daft would you have to be to believe that?), and that's fine then?
Guess Phil Clarke's "rugby gods" must have been keeping a close eye on events at the HJ in recent weeks.
