| Quote: Pugwash "From a neutral point of view I have to say that the referee was a little quicker to blow for any Leeds transgressions than he was for Hull. I also thought that Hull got the Lion's Share of any 50/50 calls.
However, this had no effect at all on the result, Hull battered Leeds in all but scoreline, they should have been out of sight by 30 mins.
Hull were quicker, sharper, tougher and just plain better than Leeds for most of the 80 mins.
One question for any/everyone, what is the point of Ref Cam?!?! It does nothing to enhance the game and just appears to be one more intrusion into the game that we don't need.
Pugwash.'"
Good post, although I think Child let a lot of slowing down go by the Rhinoes. The messing about at the ruck was a very easy decision to make for the ref. Leeds are really missing Peacock and McShane is no Shaun Lunt. As a Hull fan, we should've been in front by more at half time but credit to Leeds.

Sinfield can talk to the ref as he is the captain

What do we have to do to get a fair shake????
Everybody at times gets a bit paranoid about referees, how do you think KR feel. I understand your feelings about last week, but I still think we shaded the game, but as you say you were well beaten last night and over all I thought Childs had a good game for once. Speckies tend to remember more of the bad calls against them than the things their side did and got away with. For instance last week I thought JJB was lying on all the game, and didn’t get done much for it, and I’m sure someone will come on and tell me of things I’ve overlooked from the pies which only proves my point!

Indeed, but it's the manner in which he does it that is the problem. What's Maguire's excuse?

I'm not sure, don't tend to watch much of the South's press conferences after games

Just Sky trying something new out, can’t call em for that, but as you say it adds nowt to the game like Clarkey’s match swingometer thing for early last season, which soon bit the dust. So will this, nice try but totally useless. Hope never to see that bloody spider cam thing again too!

| You are kidding if you think Child cost you that game. Hull were dominant in the first half and should have been further ahead if Holdsworth had held onto the ball when clear. The (disallowed) Yeaman try looked like a try on the first angle and then clearly wasn't on the second angle - that "could" have gone our way after one viewing. Credit for the second half fightback but with injuries and less interchanges I guess you guys just didn't have enough. You also seem to be forgetting JJB's repeated attempts (twice successful I think) to get a penalty by pushing the defender with his head at the play of the ball. Despite that he looked a real threat second half from where I was seated.

Sky own SL - the RFL may think they run the sport but it's Sky that pull the strings.
Do you think it was the RFL that decided on Monday night games or strapping a camera to ref's head?

Agree re ref cam from a viewing perspective that it adds very little, probably costs a fair bit and I don't believe it's particularly beneficial for the official to lug around ....... except the players will be fully aware of it's presence and any interaction is now potentially being visually as well as audibly recorded, so could improve the level of respect showed to the man in the middle but as ever presumably (?) only in the SKY televised games. Any that overstep the line should expect to be made an example of with incontrovertible evidence and the game can stop any slide towards the antics seemingly tolerated in a certain other popular ball game.
Clarke's swingometer has had a makeover but it's still there - only difference is the commentary team have toned down it's significance.
I may be alone in this but I thought 'Spider-Cam Spider-Cam' was brilliant and unlike 'ref cam' really added to the outstanding coverage at Manchester. The only issue I had with it was it's overuse at times as the director was like a kid with a new toy - but I'd still like to see more of it in future. Last weekend with live coverage of seven games was an ideal way to introduce it - while spreading the cost across the full program. It will be interesting to see if any individual games are afforded the same treatment.

Incorrect.
Leeds were penalised for offside last night and at a crucial time and stage in the tackle count as well.

| After reading a couple of threads its obvious Leeds would never lose a match if the refs didn't have it in for the club, and even if they do lose(refs fault of course) its irrelevant because its because Leeds chose not to compete and are only thinking of later in the season.
Hudds, saints, wigan and hulls victories are all hollow because leeds will beat them all when they really want to.
