| Where's the crisis that many of you speak of?
As another posted said, we were 10 seconds away from a 5th win in 6 games, whilst playing at about 3 levels worse than we are capable of. That's got to be a good thing in my eyes!

| Quote Richie Ramrod="Richie Ramrod"The bottom line is Leeds are now beginning to go backwards at an alarming rate, too many average players being asked to do it week in week out and a shocking recruitment strategy.
Add to this the signing of current players underperforming (Kyle has been pathetic and little more than a passenger all season) on extended contracts and you have a recipe for disaster even with a coach who actually knows what he doing - this coach is to tactics what the Stevie Wonder is to a sightseeing adventure.'"

catalan have a lot od good players! there form is up and down. have hammered them twice and last night we both scored and converted 5 trys each thedy had a penalty goal which was the difference. sounds like a good close game. there is no shame in losing these.
people need a reality check: that on any given day a a team can win/lose.
are attack is the second best in the league which is a big improvement and our defence is still the best we are still in 3rd.
some of your comments are utter tosh. did post pi$$ed?

Having watched the highlights only 1 of the 5 conceded could have been attributed to donald from a high kick.
The others elima barge over, elima bomb inbetween right centre/second row, baille angled run between right centre/second row and stacul over-lap try in the left hand corner but your need for a scapegoat is clearly noted!!
'"
So that'll be 4 on our right side and.............erm.....1 on t'other?
Must just be coincidence then, eh?
Still, looking on the positive side, only one try directly attributal to our out of form Aussie, which must give us all confidence for a sparkling performance against Hudds!
Scotty for MOM on Friday...... you heard it here first!

| Some fans have a reasonable knowledge of the tactics of the game, maybe even some of the training but very few have much of a clue at all about the mental side of the game.
Blaming a coach, or the players for that matter, at this stage just underlines that ignorance.
In most team sports its common for coaches and players to talk about how much more difficult it is to retain a title than win it - simply because of the mental drain. How much harder do you think retaining it for a third year might be?
The only other side to win the title in consecutive years was St Helens. In the 3rd year they finished 4th in the table having lost around a third of their games. They failed to make it to the Grand Final.
The coach and players will know they are likely to be alot fresher than St Helens at the business end of the season and, by taking off some of the mental pressure in the middle of the season, they may well be able to peak both physically and mentally come October. They'd very much fancy their chances against Hull KR in the play offs even if they finished third but are still likely to take at least runners up spot.

| I'm not concerned as yet but as people have previously stated, the contract renewals have been poor. Kirke, Ablett, Bailey, Burgess are average at best. Without a major signing the forwards are are asking too much fo these rotation squad players, giving them a key role when they aren't up to it. I worry about the workload Peacock is required to get through as well, don't be suprised if he burns out towards the end of the season considering he's had this workload on his shoulders since the beginning of '07.

Burgess is a raw talent with a number of weaknesses.
Ablett & Kirke have a couple of Grand Final appearances and winners rings each. Bailey has three winners rings and 4 Grand Final appearances to go with his GB caps. Not bad going for players who are 'average at best'.

| From what I saw, it was a cracking rugby match, which we narrowly lost in the final seconds. Fair play to Les Frogs for that final effort.
It was also heartening to see the overall team effort, with some really good individual performances from McQuire, Buderus, Webb, Hall and Peacock.
Although I do share the concerns about the workload that Peacock is being asked to carry, I thought that Kylie had his best game for a while.
Nils Desperandum people.

| Difficult to assess the game from highlights, so can't wait for reports from those who were actually there.
It seems like discipline and giving away needless penalties keeps biting us. And we still seem to struggle during the first 20 or so minutes of the second half.
Still work to be done before October, but I'm not panicking at the moment.
BAsed on the highlights Catalans certainly deserved their win.

| If poeple on here can't see the lack of ability in our current coach they truly are s of the highest order!!
And Loz if you think the GF last season was due to tactical nouce of the current encumbnent then you are deluded, give me TS any day of the week.
Warrington will do is in the play offs on current form due to the fact they actually have a pack that goes forward, where is Leeds go forward?
PS
Snake Eater, your credibility is already nill on any site so go and play with yourself somewhere else.

Ricky Bibey's a CC winner. Does that make him good? Didn't think so.
Burgess still has time to develope and I believe he will but he's getting a bit too much game time at the moment and has made a few howling errors because he isn't quite ready for week in week out SL yet. Bailey & Kirke should be hitting their prime but aren't. Alays thoguht kirke was good value for money but barring then first 5 or so games this season he has done very little. Baileys there to 'rattle a few cages' Barrie Mac likes to say and it is effective but not always.
I'm also fed up of sticking up for Ablett. He guy really is a donkey. Makes plenty of tackles but apart from that he is nothing and I doubt he ever will be.

I disagree here, the game plan in last year's grand final was perfect for the conditions.
