Yeah he did, just looking from a best case with the players to choose from I'd not want someone who never defends on an edge in between Briscoe and hurrell.

bankruptcy hence the need for book balancing but we regularly signed quality harris, elis, peacock , webb , buderus and now giving to contracts to average and playing average

Quote: ArthurClues "Haven't managed to watch the game yet, but one look at the score tells that regardless of quality they must have put a tremendous effort. Absolutely decimated by injury all over the park and most crucially in the key positions (Sutcliffe sixth choice half and Leeming not even a half), but taking a near enough full strength Huddersfield to the wire. Some ridiculous over reactions on here. Sad to read it.'"

Giants had 4 out and a second row as centre.

Weve got Myler and Walker out who are our main 2 full backs. Take Zak.and French out of Wigan and Coote and Welsby out of Saints.

Newman is missing, a top young centre. Take Percival from Saints and Gildart at Wigan.

Lui and Gale are our main halves and McLelland is a young back up so lets take Hastings, Leuluai and Harry Smith out of Wigan squad and Fages, Lomax and Dodd from Saints.

Our main forward Tetevano, good player, is missing. I would say Walmsley is Saints equivalant and Bateman is Wigans marquee forward so take them out.

Holroyd is out as a young back up. So lets take Harvard and Lees out of there respective teams.

Cam Smith is out for us who is a regular in the 17 for us a young forward with potential so lets remove Shorrocks and Batchelor who probably arent at Cam's level.

Now how do Wigan and Saints look? Not too good but that being said we arent at Saints and Wigan levels anyway. We lost by 1 point away from home.

No team can handle the men out we currently have.

Lets hope bodies return asap.

Hurrell and Briscoe have to be the slowest centre wing partnership in SL.Hopefully Hurrell will improve as he gets match fit.He does struggle with players that have a step on them.Ive said before i wouldn't renew his contract with Suttcliffe Newman and Broadbent all centres.A lot will depend on how Newman comes back and obviously the amount Hurrell will be after.A six with pace is looking a must for next season unless Eastmond improves out of sight.

Exactly this! Also add in that the players we have coming back have been injured and aren’t up to speed yet that it really is no wonder we are scratchy. We seem to change out 1, 6 and 7 every week. Don’t care who you are it is difficult to get continuity when that is happening. I understand frustration with basic errors but people make basic errors when they are under pressure and you don’t have continuity. I want to win games like everybody else but everything has context and if the injuries mean the decisions we make on players are easier in the next 12-24 months then great. Also some of the lads getting game time are accelerating development and that for me is a plus.
When we can put out the same squad or a team with 1-2 changes over 3-4 weeks then you can point the finger, not before imo.

A six, another prop and a winger have to be priorities. Both 9s are contracted next year so nothing will change there.

There should be cap space and quota spots available to address those u
Issues.

Keeping Prior another priority but can see him retiring.

We are too reliant on Luke Gale.

Hard for eastmond, has played two games in a year, hasn’t played RL for a number of years. He has played two games with different half back partners, neither of which are first choice or probably even second choice. Different full backs neither of which first or second choice. If we sign a top level 6 for next year then we will need to get rid of Lui and Cam M which I think we will. As you say if Hurrell isn’t retained then maybe we have some cash to splash.

With Hurrel, he is coming back after injury, I wouldn’t write him off just yet, bear in mind he’s been in the SL dream team for the last 2 years, used correctly he is very dangerous.

I also think Prior will finish in which case I think we need two props next year, especially if Zane is playing 13. I think another winger would significantly improve us in attack and defence. Mentioned a 6 in my last post. I think Martin will leave but Walters, Gannon maybe A Sutcliffe allow that replacement to be internal not external.

How on earth do you know, we haven’t seen our team at full strength.

We were playing some very entertaining stuff early last year, and weve added since then, this team is capable of decent rugby
