A genuine WTF moment when reading this thread.

No wonder RL never reaches beyond its heartland.

Quote: SmokeyTA "Your real world being the one where reasonable people proudly lob unevidenced accusations to demean and denigrate people using their sexuality to do so of course.

Its still nice to remember that despite your irrelevant anger, demeaning and bigoted statements, and incoherent ranting. James Child will walk out on an SL pitch and take part in an SL game this weekend. Confident and knowing just how impotent you are.

Enjoy your rugby league, James Child will.'"

Far from any anger from me, I just sit here smug, laughing at your pathetic attempt to make yourself the hero of the British people. I believe you are the only person on this thread demonstrating anger and incoherent ranting, even pointed out by posters trying to help you. That is what usually happens where people stick to text book ramblings rather than post their true thoughts, which are much easier to get across.

Good luck to James Child and his reffing this week, even if this weekends appointments do further prove the point raised, after yet another poor showing. However, if the RFL can just ramp up that unequal effort in order to achieve equality, that they so proudly claim, and somehow get Mr Child to a level of the other refs he is working with, then I truely do wish him all the best, and hope it can be achieved.

Getting bored of this - starting to go round in circles. Child gets games because there is such a dearth of alternatives there is little alternative choice. If there were 10 full time SL refs, he would likely ref less. There isn't however, so he doesn't. See also 'Silverwood' and 'Bentham' for similar answers on why they still get games.

Does Bentham get games as he is bald? Does Silverwood get them because he is from Cas-way (so I understand)?

Or, (just maybe) do they get the games because although naff, there is isn't really anyone else to do it instead right now?

bigots often do need to set up their own circular arguments to feel confident in their ignorance.

Its good that you have set yours out early.

This. And they've been poorly trained, supported and developed on their way up to SL level.

and very few people ever start up on the journey because worst case scenario you will be occasionally threatened by meatheads despite giving up your own time for them, best case scenario you're demeaned by morons anonymously on message boards for not a lot of money.

People will literally spend hours of their lives looking for evidence that not only are you at the job they wouldnt do, but you are only given that job as a sop to equality.

The vitriol and opprobrium levelled at them, and the lengths people will go to to try and do them down is worrying these are people with houses and jobs and kids. Why anyone would choose to be treated like that by people who profess to love the game is beyond me.

People still can't answer why he got given the likes of Wigan vs Saints and Leeds vs Wigan back in 2012 then?

Ahead of Silverwood, Bentham and Ganson who all had Final experience and Thaler who was well ahead of him at the time in terms of performance and experience.

And I know you can't the same refs doing Wigan matches every week but that's why he could've done Wigan vs Wakey/Salford/Widnes etc which was the level he was at......Not Wigan biggest rivals in two of the biggest games of the regular season. If he was capable of officiating those type of matches then why haven't they ever given him a semi final (which are reserved for the refs deemed best.

Anybody who thinks his appointments to those games was all above board need to wake up. The fact that nobody has yet to explain this (or even attempted) and just try and stay within 2015 shows they don't really know why he got given those games.

Quote: Him "There is only Thaler who is consistently good enough to be considered a top ref but he can't do every game. The RFL have a policy of trying to make sure teams don't get the same ref over and over again so there will always be an element of sharing the games between the refs'"

2012 Silverwood deemed the best ref by RFL by getting both the CC and GF.

Times he officiated Wigan in the regular season = 3....and none since Round 8

James Child Wigan games in 2012 regular season = 6

Yeah it was because Silverwood got Wigan too often that Child got their games vs Leeds and Saints icon_wink.gif

Child's 3rd season he gets Wigan games vs Leeds and Saints

Hicks 3rd season he only gets Wigan games vs Wakefield and London

Roby 3rd season he only gets Wigan vs Bradford and Widnes

And the latter two refs had less competition for places with Alibert gone and Ganson retiring only a few weeks into the season.

Sharing games around equally??? B#ll#cks lol

Nope. Repeating bigoted accusation long enough doesnt mean a reasonable person stops challenging it.

Where does Thierry Alibert getting the Wigan v Leeds game in 2012 ahead of those same refs fit in to the gay agenda?
