Quote rollin thunder="rollin thunder"Good look to walters, not super league standard but could excel at this level, and maybe the super league door is not fully closed. did not deserve the stick he got, always plenty of effort, and he will always have that dream grand final winning try.
Ormanroyd, we he was never ever good enough a very average championship squad filler, do not know what we ever saw in him in the first place, hopefully the last of these type of second class project players.'"
The comment about Ormondroyd is very easy to make with the benefit of hindsight.
At the time Leeds signed him, he had improved massively at Featherstone in a very short period of time and in the space of a few months had gone from being a fringe member of the Fev squad to playing well enough to be on the radar of several SL clubs given one important factor about him - he didn't start playing rugby league until he was 16.
At the time Leeds signed him, it would have been hard to assess whether his sudden improvement would continue or plateau. As it turns out, it has been the latter and I wouldn't say he has improved over the last couple of years, but that's sometimes how things go.
Think the current moves for both he and Walters are the right moves for all concerned.
