We can judge him on his medals if you like. And why he's never played at a top club. Will that do?

So he raises his game against the SL's best, who doesn't !!?
How about judging him on....
How he plays when it really matters (he usually goes missing)
His medal haul (a challenge cup and a LLS by default of no one else really trying isn't it?)
Final appearances (2?)
International appearances (let's not even go there eh)
Forget the last 4 year, i'd take Sinfield every time since he switched to half, over any half back in the country. His playing record, kicking record, trophy haul, MOMs, international apps and MBE say it all.
Happy now?

| Embarrassing.
Ryan Bailey has 5 super league rings does that make him a good player?
Sinfeld has done a lot for your club and been a great servant to the game of rugby league.
However is he a better half than Danny Brough?
Simple answer is no! Most folk from outside of leeds will tell you this. And to be fair the realists from within leeds will also tell you.
It's been a pleasure. Good night!

| Quote: leeds owl "The RFL set the boundaries regarding Brough's foul mouth when they allowed him to call Bentham a "cheating c**t and bent b*****d" live on BBC last season. They and the refs are mostly to blame for Brough's petulance and foul mouthed antics. I would be quite happy to see Brough rendered mute by a large fist in his orifice next week.'"
Because of course, no player from any other club has ever been seen to use bad language towards an official .... And certainly not a Leeds player eh????
Quote: leeds owl "Quote: leeds owl "For all his bad points, there isn't a better half back in the country.'"
Stop listening to Stevo.
Do you really think he played well last night against SL fodder, who were missing their key playmakers?
Nothing says "class" more than missing touch when kicking a penalty, diving with more flair than Tom Daley or passing to the opposition when a try's begging.
Cause the almighty sinfield has never missed touch, kicked out on the full, thrown a bad pass or made an error whilst playing for Leeds- especially not in atrocious playing conditions. - he saves all his bad games for the international stage. As for diving- aiton taught him everything he knows about that.

How many Lance Todd or MOM appearances at International level do Ryan Bailey or Danny Brough have?
How many times has Brough been deemed good enough to play for Eng/GB. How many times has he captained England?
Jog on and [iplease[/i stop listening to those muppets on Sky.

Well you've got to at least get picked before performing on the international stage but... Would you care to name all these bad games he had for Eng/GB? I can think of one many years ago where he was subbed but since then he's performed better than most and won quite a few MOM awards. He was also chosen as MOM by the NRL boys several times during the last world cup.
I've seen Aiton dive once, it was embarrassing and I hope he never does it again. I've seen Brough dive twice in the last 2 games...

Indeed you have- blame that first bit on the fact we've had a coach who has failed miserably at club level running the international team- one who can't command the respect of the players in his team. Just ask Hardaker.
I've seen sinfield play well just twice in any meaningful international fixtures. he's great playing to the structures he knows and has practiced again and again ag Leeds, he is skilled but has little creative flair.
If sinfield had played his entire career at hull fc, for example, would you still be giving him these plaudits? I think not. He's mr dependable at Leeds certainly. The John major of RL.

Anyone who struggles to appreciate the reality of what Kevin Sinfield brings to a team and has brought to the game in his career has no understanding of this game and should not be taken seriously. He has been arguably the most important player in a team that dominated Super League for the best part of a decade, delivering consistently inventive play, seeing the game in a way that very few manage, and delivering some of the most attractive rugby seen on these shores but that has nothing to do with him because he has little creative flair? He can only play to set structures? Yes, the Leeds teams that Sinfield has captained for the last fifteen years really have been all about structure, certainly nothing off the cuff about the team that scored over a thousand points in a season.
If he'd been given the England/GB captaincy and run of the team when he should have been (circa 200icon_cool.gif then there's no doubt in my mind that we would have been dramatically more competitive. Hell, at the back end of his career he was the best England player at the World Cup.
You want to compare him to Brough? That's fine, Brough's very good, but he's no Kevin Sinfield. One of them will be remembered as an all time great because his career supports that claim, one will be remembered as a former Huddersfield captain, because his career supports that claim.

I'm not comparing sinfield to anyone- I'm judging him as an individual. Yes he will be remembered as an all time great because he played in a very successful Leeds team. If he had been playing the last 10 years as a hull FC player, I doubt he would be remembered in the same way-

Mate, i'm not even going to bother responding to that load of old tripe. You're clearly an idiot.

| He played in a very successfull team because he was the key to it all . Brough finished up at Huddersfield because no one else wanted him and managed to win a league leaders shield that meant jack all , unless of course you have won nothing more than a raffle for donkeys years .

you may want to consider that that Leeds would not have been as successful without Sir Kev driving the team, i remember the collective shudder when he went down against Warrington in the grand final, but he got up and was instrumental in Leeds winning a 6th grand final, great player great captain and ambassador for the game

| Right now, this minute in time. Not 3, 5 or 10 years ago.
Who is better..... Danny Brough or Kevin Sinfield?
One or the other, not who's won what or played for who?

Quit your foot stamping, it's embarrassing.
Your small town, small time club syndrome's really coming to the fore here but if we say Danny Brough's in better form than a 35 year old, who's played more games and won more trophies than any other player in the world in the last 10 years and is on the brink of retirement will you be happy and go away?
