I think there is a difference between players and coaches - also at that time Saints were the darlings of RL and intimidated the RFL.

Coaches should be treated more harshly than players as they are supposed to set an example to their players and the fact that their comments can be calculated before they say them.

I do agree with your second analysis that integrity and competence should be treated differently. But is it actually in the rules that a player can be banned for this sort of offence

I can recall a couple of coaches referring to "feeling cheated" in recent years and escaping without a ban.

And sorry David, but anybody that thinks a player will get 4 or 5 games for anything verbal to a ref is sadly going very much overboard. You don't even get that for almost decapitating players most of the time.

Last year Justin Morgan got £4k fine with half suspended for calling Ben Thaler sub-standard.

I can't imagine they will judge Senior's comments any more harshly than that.

Exactly! All Morgan called Thaler was Sub Standard and he got huge 4K fine, quite substantial for a SL player/coach. The only way you can punish a coach is by a fine, so i suspect Keith will get maybe half of that fine and 2 game ban.

They could make them sit on the replacements bench instead of in the stand.

Not sure they can ban a player for something thats occured OFF the field
