Barn Door is now taking the p155 and he clearly wants out....But only on a freebie ,rather than a transfer fee having to be made to secure his services.

Think you’re wrong Tad. Just looked at the Fulham F.C profile and a few other football stat sites and they qualify him as a right footer that plays on the left wing. The Spurs profile classes him as an inverted left winger, i.e right footed. There’s no doubt he can use his left peg but just watch him the next time he gets the ball, always coming inside to get it on his right foot. That’s why he’s not getting down the outside of defenders. He did it once for the Joseph goal but you’ll be lucky to see him do that on more than a couple of occasions this season. The other problem is his lack of pace. If you’re Mo Salah you can prosper in the inverted winger role because you have the pace to run in behind or past defenders, Solomon doesn’t have that pace. In short, Solomon is a centre forwards nightmare, constantly checking back inside instead of looking to get to the byline.

Summerville was a better version of an inverted winger but the wheels came off for him when teams sussed him out and he failed badly in the final part of the season. Summerville was part of an impotent forward line that couldn’t trouble teams in the important run in and 4 points from the last 18 killed us last season. He ran down so many blind alleys that last 7 or 8 games he didn’t look the same player that won Championship Player of The Year.

Yeah easy to view Summerville and Rutter with rose tinted glasses but both fell to bits when it really counted at the back end of the season..

From what i've seen of Solomon so far is that he struggles to move the ball quickly too, he tends to slow it down too much. Some of that is just the way he's been coached before and he should get better. BUT, he needs to improve fast otherwise i'd send him back in Jan and get an upgrade in there

I think a lot of that was down to how teams defended against Summerville in particular.
Rutter on the other hand tried to do too much and frequently took the wrong option.
When it worked it looked good but that was rare.
I agree on Solomon who has the ability but doesn`t have the pace.
I would be giving him an ultimatum that he needs to shift up a gear or he goes back to Spurs and as long as we have a better replacement.

I’m glad you’re optimistic Chapy. We’ve struggled to get a win in away games recently, only 3 points from the last 12 and only 3 goals in those 4 games. Got to say, at Bristol and Millwall we looked pretty toothless. Gnonto has looked a little lost to me without Ramazani and started making some bad decisions, that certainly hasn’t helped. We really need someone up top to have a real purple patch and take most of the chances that they get. Swansea and Blackburn will be tough games. I’m hoping if the results aren’t what we’d like leading up to Xmas the club will seriously go after another centre forward. We’ve also got to start getting some early, quality ball into the box for whoever is up top. We’re well in the mix, and after such a turbulent pre season I’d certainly have taken where we are at the moment. We just need that little extra going forward for me.

Thought i would try the positive vibes to see if it helped
I totally agree we need to get the ball in the box earlier than what we do instead of playing the tippy tappy stuff outside the box.
A fair bit of that is down to our wingers cutting in field and going it alone instead of staying out wide and feeding the centre forward who imo should then be supported in the box by the number 10 or one of our midfielders otherwise the CF is outnumbered by the 2 centre halves.
Interesting to read Orta admit that he didn`t want to pay 12 million for Gyokeres when we had a chance to sign him but instead spent almost 3 times more on Rutter.

| It certainly is a journey and if there`s a hard way to do it you can bet that`s the one we will choose.
I`ve had the pleasure of knowing and socialising with some of the Leeds greats in Paul Reaney, Eddie Gray, Bobby Collins, John Charles, Joe Jordan, Gordon McQueen and Terry Yorath.
I`ve also seen some right dross including the names you mentioned mate.
I`m hoping we really can kick on up to Christmas bring in a ten or centre forward plus one other and push for promotion.
Knowing us we will end up in the play offs just to stretch the nerves even further.

some very tough fixtures for Sunderland. As mentioned on here, our away form though is pretty average and needs to improve if we are to get some breathing space from the rest. Can see us getting 2 wins and a draw but ideally 9 would be nice. we need to get to the top and put pressure on the rest chasing..

| I'm comfortable where we are. seasons been totally disrupted by too many international breaks, and injuries.
we haven't got going but all being well as players return we'll get stronger and more consistent.

The UEFA Nations League fixtures are an absolute joke and a perfect example of the greed that is killing football for many people. It is also another kick in the teeth for loyal fans that can end up travelling 400-500 miles for a midweek game to accommodate this crap. Drives me mad.
