Quote: tad rhino "no idea how it looked on TV but the pitch was a disgrace. played union on it last night!!!'"

They mentioned it on LUTV Tad.
I like Piroe but think Joseph might start next Saturday or Farke might surprise us all and play Bamford.
To be hoped Gnonto and Rodon don`t both get booked next week as both will miss the Millwall game.

Farke is digging his own grave again with Piroe. We all know how it ended at the back end of last season when he reintroduced him to the team. You cannot have a centre forward that doesn’t challenge for aerial balls, that lacks commitment and pulls out of tackles. We’ve carried him for far too many games since his arrival. I don’t think Farke fancies any of his options at centre forward to be honest. Geldhart may as well not bother turning up for training, Farke simply doesn’t rate him. They think Bamford has seen better days, and by picking Piroe over Joseph that is the ultimate insult for Joseph after having had hardly any game time last season. They need to get a couple off the books and sign a centre forward in January or I fear we are heading the same way as last season. When people say we have strength in depth at centre forward it’s a myth. We actually have four players that the manager doesn’t actually rate.

That`s why I was advocating for Moore.
Delap at Ipswich is another who would go well and there`s a bloke called Woods at Forrest who looks quite good too icon_wink.gif

Wouldn’t surprise me if Joseph starts next week he’s confident after getting that hatrick for Spain 21s and a goal v Sheff u at home.. needs to build on it. Interesting on Bamford, if he’s fit he’ll score a few at this level no doubt

I think Farke has done a great job for the 2nd season in a row getting us up near the top after such a turbulent pre season and transfer window. I don’t think there’s a better candidate to take us up but ….his handling of Joseph has been bizarre. Only 4 points out of the last 18 available killed us last season, but even when the wheels were coming off and we were struggling to score he never once started Joseph, just giving him 5 or 6 mins at the end of games. Fast forward a couple of months and Joseph is suddenly the best striker at the club starting the first 8 games. The consensus amongst fans and pundits was he was doing well for the team and working hard. Yes, we would have liked a couple more goals for sure, but everything was going in the right direction for him. I’m sure when he didn’t start at Sunderland most people thought it was to keep him fresh for Sheff Utd 3 days later. After 4 games warming the bench and Piroe being so poor in the last couple of games I’m not sure what anybody makes of the situation let alone Joseph himself. How to kill a young players confidence ? See Farke for details.

Yeah its crazy to say Josephs confidence is gone, doesnt look like it to me.

Piroe came into the team after scoring a some goals, and playing well. Not his best game at the weekend but not many played well. Imagine Joseph will come back in.

I don`t think for one minute they would drop a division Tad I was trying to illustrate that 2 (Moore and Delap) I mentioned are the players we needed to be looking at.
Does that mean Sheff Utd gave Moore a 3 year deal?
Now they are deranged.
I mentioned Woods as an ex Leeds player who many fans were slagging off when he played against us who is still scoring goals at PL level whereas Piroe and Bamford can`t score in the Championship.
Saying all that Piroe`s strike rate is up there with the best when all is said and done.

whilst piroe hasn't been good the service has been bloody awful. I'm not sure you can point the finger at him for not scoring. but yes, joseph needs a run now

I agree Tad.
Piroes scoring to minutes played is pretty good in comparison.
When we signed him I thought he could be the missing link.
I think the way we play doesn`t help.
We prefer the tippy tappy in or near the box instead of getting the ball to Piroe/Joseph.
Most of the time Joseph is trying to win the ball between the box and the touchline.

I think people make up far more excuses for Piroe than they ever did for Barn door. In the last 3 games Piroe’s finishing has been woeful. The one attempt he had against Sheff Utd went over the Revie Stand and is still rolling down the M62. Against Watford he over ran the ball when through on goal, hit the ball straight at the keeper from 8 yards, and then instead of hitting the ball when through on goal again he decided to do a ridiculous check back inside and lost the ball. Lee Hendrie on co commentary said Piroe was the only Leeds player he was disappointed with. As for Saturday, well, what is there to say. Let’s not have selective memories and blame his team mates when he’s made a right bo#####s of something.
