| Yes i wouldn't be at all against another year for JJB, on the whole he has been very good and would get it on merit not sentiment.

Agreed I don't blame him whatsoever, we should have used him correctly.

We did use him correctly, we didn't pick him.

| Baldwinson seemed to struggle with the physicality of SL in the limited time he got. I actually think he'd be better than Singleton as the 3rd or 4th prop, but I don't think he's a big loss. There's a definite bias towards academy players at times. The likes of Singleton, Baldwinson and, Lilley are average, and when that averageness gets exposed, it's because they weren't used correctly or given a fair chance.

Spot on. Can never be because a poster just rated academy player higher than what they actually were.

| Baldwinson looked promising in his first two 1st grade outings - reminiscent of a young Adrian Morley IMO - he then went to New Zealand and has looked nothing special since his return. No idea why he hasn't progressed but suspect it's coaching related.
Don't agree with the comparison to Singleton who quite sadly is the nearest thing Leeds have to an enforcer in the pack. What a time to be alive.

Aye, the young Adrian Morley was a wide running, athletic 2nd rower, so the comparison to a young Morley seems strange. I can only assume he meant Chris Morley instead.

Maybe, not many players come back from the NRL better players. Eden perhaps, but he's come back to play the easiest position in the game, so it's hard to tell if he's actually improved or if it's just his weaknesses are less exposed.

Why is everyone taking digs at Singleton? Without him we would have absolutely zero line speed in defence
As for defending academy players, I think most people would just rather we gave our own kids a chance than buy bang average players instead
Galloway is one who gets a hell of a lot of praise on here for a bloke who never brakes a tackle, never forces an error with a big tackle and rarely gets a quick ptb. If he was a 20 year old academy player he would be slated as not good enough.

When you get real talent - he played for the GB U18s - its sad for the sport that they don't develop. The talent pool is thin enough without real talent going to waste through ineffective development.
