| Quote: Biff Tannen "The whole team were off against Wigan so i don't really see why 2 of our GF winning front rowers who have been excellent for a long while were seemingly singled out as they didnt stick out like a sore thumb to me so for them to miss out two games running was a surprise, especially as they would have clearly made a difference off the bench for us.Keinhorst and Walters or Garbutt and Singleton? its a no brainer.'"
Garbutt has been poor this year. McDermott doesn't fancy Singleton. Never has. Young players only play when there is no other option. Even then, they don't always get off the bench.

How many games did Singleton miss last season then?

Agree from memory not sure on exact figures but I certainly had him down as a regular member of the 17

He played most of last year. Including selection in the big finals, not bad going for someone Mac doesn't fancy as you say.
Infact i would say the way Singleton has been managed up to now over the last few years has been excellent, playing him more and more every year to the point where before the wigan game you would have said he is automatic selection now in the 17, maybe the starting 13 even with everyone fit.
I wouldn't say Garbutt has been any worse than the other front rowers, he just hasn't hit the heights of his great start for us back end of last year.rather have him on the bench as an option at least than the bench warmer for 80 minutes like lilley was on thursday night, he would have been great to bring on with 20 minutes to go against the tiring Cas defenders.

| Singleton missed two games in July 2015, the SL Round 20 home win V St Helens and the CC SF win V the same opponents at Warrington.
Still not enough hard evidence to support the notion McDermott doesn't trust him. Perhaps he's afraid having a prop forward potentially top the try charts isn't a great look for our supposed "World Class" three-quarter line.

| Singleton wouldn't have got half as many games if JJB would have been fit. We all know that.

You do realise JJB was fit until the CC semi last year and Singleton played in the same team up until that point don't you?

Really? You do realise JJB played 11 games last season. Leuluai missed about 12, Delaney missed 12. Ward missed about 8. Singleton wouldn't have played 34 games if those blokes were fit. We all know that.

No, we do not all know that, all we know is he played virtually every game last season including the two big finals so should tell you all you need to know about his current status in the squad.
Also, i would wager the majority on here would have him in their 17 were the whole squad fit (you excluded for one obviously )

We all know that if McDermott isn't keen on a player then they don't really play at all (Robbie Ward, Amor) regardless of injuries so you really are reaching to say he's not keen on Singleton.
Thing is we don't know his reasons for dropping them for the last two games. It may be a very harsh reason.....on the other hand he might well be justified in dropping them from the squad (let's be honest it isn't because of their performance at Wigan so something else has gone on).

| Given they are both in the squad for wakey can we put this to bed now?
There really could be any number of reasons and it's not something the club would comment on anyway.

| Has Singleton even been dropped? Or is it just
guess work?
If his partner was due or just had a baby maybe
he's done what most fathers to be would do and
had or requested some paternal leave. He's entitled
to a couple of weeks I believe?
If she hasn't had it yet maybe his mind hasn't
quite been on it in training - not surprisingly.
Can't see any issues there personally.

I forgot, he is a young player so he musnt be as good as the established ones, no way would he get in over at least Leuluai and delany on merit.
