for me this season, win or lose tonight, has been a massive success. this group of players never cease to amaze me. after being decimated by injury all season and not having a week off till last week, to reach the cc final and to get this far in the play offs has required tremendous guts and determination.

Last night was a good example of the importance of good discipline. The momentum of the game swung dramatically as penalties were conceded and field position and possession were given away. St Helens scored the crucial tries which won them the game on the piggy back effect of 5 penaltires on the trot.
The game tonight will be won by the side that controls the field position and the speed of the play the balls. Leeds must work hard not to give away these easy yards agains Wigan.

Most of the penalites decisions were correct so Hudderfield cannot complain. In the end the best and classiest team won but for professional players to give away these penalties when it has such a big infuence is a worry. |

Don't think Saints have had the credit they deserve. Leeds missed McGuire badly tonight, Saints have rolled over the Giants and Warrington without out two main strike players and pivots in Pryce and Eastmond.
The lack of a cutting edge today from Leeds should put that into perspective.
