Exactly, if I was ever unfortunate enough to be diagnosed with a terminal illness if I could remain just half as positive and dignified as Jane Tomlinson did, and raise just a fraction of the money that she did for the cause I would be happy and I would know my actions would leave my family proud of me.

The two people are completely impossible to compare because how they dealt with the tragic news was so different.

I think if I was in her shoes ,and I had children and I knew I wasn't going to be around long, I would have made as much money as possible to make sure that have good education and that they will be looked after.

Money isn't everything in life, as myself and Dave Heron's Moustache both eluded to before - you can't buy happiness or lifelong memories by pushing every second of your life to the front in the media, you can't make your children proud of you and set them a lifelong positive example by doing that. Her reaction to her diagnosis although not in the slightest bit shocking certainly won't (in my opinion) do her sons any good.

Agreed – as much as I despise the reasons for her ‘celebrity’ status and the media and her publicist for cashing-in on her condition, I find nothing about the premature passing of Ms Goody as amusing.

The only good thing that has risen from this circus is awareness that this disease is not confined to the 40+ and can inflict anyone.
