That depends. It's possible that Garbutt had become disaffected with Leeds long before he was made available. The club may have had no alternative. After all, there can be no justification on playing grounds alone.

We have no idea what goes on behind the scenes, decisions about playing roster will not be made on on field (when he gets on the field that is!) alone. Who knows maybe Sinfield and the coaching staff has seen that Garbutt isn't invested in the club anymore, Sinfield said in one of his pressers that it was stupid having a big chunk of Salary cap sat on the sidelines for large periods, maybe there's more to that than we know.

Kev played with players who regularly put their bodies on the line and through the pain barrier - none more so than Peacock. I expect he has high expectations and some people probably aren't reaching them, or look like they will. With 1 down next year it's a good time to look ahead and not just at the season coming up. I trust that the club is taking this situation seriously and has a long term plan in place

Long term plan, agree, it's vital. Encouraging that the club seems to be chasing high quality with offers of long contracts. But it's difficult to implement a long term plan if it's beholden to the whims of players down under who may or may not sign, depending upon what other offers they receive.

To be honest I don't think that wing spot would be too hard to fill if we tried: however if we're carrying Handley in the squad he should be playing 1st grade by now, and I'd give that a go I think. Bigger priorities.

Handley looked half decent at centre last year, but I'm not so sure about him on the wing. Big question marks over his hands IMO, very suspect under a high ball and seems to drop the ball in contact an awful lot. I'd prefer someone with an aerial threat out wide too, don't think he gives us that.

If Garbutt's going there's a good chance our pack, which is already awful, is going to be worse next season. I understand that Sinfield is going to carrying out the recruitment role from now on but unfortunately, for next season we could be carrying the same amount of average plodders.

Were under a week away from start of pre-season. And the 'button' has been pushed once. I'd call that a disaster in terms of recruitment.
