Quote: Trebor1 "Nothing club can do about that mate. He was very useful last year when fit and had some minutes. Farke said the same. He's 3rd choice as it stands and that fine. You won't find many better at this level than Bamford as a squad striker.'"

Bamford leads the line ten times better than Piroe, that’s why when he got fit last year Piroe was dropped. He may well be 3rd choice this year, and that’s because his finishing over the last couple of injury hit years has been below the standards he set when he got his England cap etc. We suffered at the back end of last season by not having a competent centre forward, Piroe and Rutter were both inadequate when we needed them most and Bamford was again injured. I still think if Farke had been brave enough to give Joseph the necessary minutes throughout the season he could have made a real difference at the back end. That’s all in the past, hopefully we can manage a top two spot without having a crackerjack centre forward if everyone else pitches in with some goals.

It`s time our midfielders started to score goals.
When was the last time the likes of Amapadu, Gruev, Rothwell or Tanaka scored taking into account the latter 2 have only started getting picked?
Struijk I think has scored more than all of them likewise Firpo.
Personally I don`t think Bamford leading the line is in his locker nowadays.

Age and injuries mean you’re probably right. We’ve got away with not having anyone that can do that job properly. Joseph still has potential to grow into a better player to lead the line and hold the ball up.

Spot on.
Bamford was one of the best at holding the ball up and leading the line in his peak.
Have to say had Bamford fluffed the chances Piroe and Joseph had tonight I would be slagging him off up hill and down dale.
An ugly 3 points tonight and with 5 of the other 6 games finishing as draws that`s a good 2 points gained over those teams.

should have been more comfortable but that’s the championship for you. Midweek games are always tricky. It’s just about getting the points

Results over performance for these midweek games, but I was disappointed with our lack of intensity in our duels, their goal being the prime example, but we won't play many teams as physically strong as Watford every week.

Hopefully Ramazani's injury isn't too bad, but I'd put James in if he's out. I also thought Joseph did enough to deserve a start in the next game, he gives us so much more mobility up front that Piroe just can't.

Tanaka was really good again, he's a premier league level player IMO

Another 3 points, but couldn’t help feeling slightly deflated after that. I didn’t think we’d struggle so much when Ramazani went off, but there was a noticeable difference without him. Might sound tough on Solomon, but we didn’t have the same cohesion in the final third when he came on. The big lads up front for Watford held the ball up well and started causing us some problems, in contrast to the big hole we had in the centre of the field up front. Farke has a couple of decisions to make on Saturday. As Jack said above, I’d go with Joseph up top. I’d also go with James instead of Solomon. It’s been a good start to the the season, let’s hope Farke can find the right combinations within the team to continue that momentum.

Solomon is very rusty. He needs minutes and more time in training to get his fitness up. James comes in on the right and Gnonto on left if Ramazanni out at the weekend, lets hope it's not too serious.. sounded like a sore ankle.

That was a potential banana skin last night no doubt. We put a hell of a lot into Sheff U game and you could tell.

Firpo banned for Saturday away at Bristol C.. he really does pick up too many silly bookings. i'd like to see Schmidt come in but i suspect Byram will, he doesn't seem to trust Schmidt with many minutes.

Could really do with that midfield back up coming in soon also, i do think fresh legs were needed in that midfield half way through second half last night (Rothwell looked a tad leggy). It's a lot to ask for AO and Rothwell to go full 90 mins twice a week.

Rothwell my mom last Friday and Tanaka last night.
We must remember it has been a long time since Rothwell played two 90 minute games over a 4 day period.
It is notable that our forwards including Aaronson in particular rarely win one on one duals.
