He does, but I think young Jack will have to wait for injury to strike. He might not be everybody's cup of tea but I can't recall Frawley missing a tackle, dropping a ball or giving away a penalty yet. Could anybody say the same for Austin or Sezer three games in? He's solid and other players do better for his presence. Good pro for Sinfield to learn from.

| Having watched the game back on sky, I think we defended quite well all be it, Catalans at times made some poor errors and poor decisions. Like I've said last few weeks I think we'll see our attack click when the weather conditions improve and we continue to play a free style of rugby. Croft is impressing me more and more each week coming up with some big plays for our tries. Ruan needs to be getting more game time he defiantly adds something to our pack whether it's in back row or at prop, i don't think we need to or can afford to carry both Bentley, Martin & Mcdonnell all in 17 when and if we have majority/ all of our pack to choose from all play too similar and are all leaner modern day backrowers. Great money ball from Cam Smith who is doing a fine job of leading the team as captain in 2024, Ash Handley just seems to score and finish off outstanding tries for us this season so long may that continue. I think most of us on this forum would take 2 out of 3 wins to start there season let the season fully start before we right the team of eh.

| I'm sure Frawley's kicking game would improve significantly if he wasn't having to kick from within his own 40m line most of the time.

He's always looking to be involved, but he's always looking to keep the ball alive with basketball passes.
He could do some damage if he gets a break into open space, but he needs to cut out the mistakes and calm down a bit.'"
Aside from the dropped kick off I thought Miller went ok on Saturday but maybe it's just me - when we signed him I kept reading about how fast he was, how he was going to light up SL etc. I haven't really seen that from him. Been going ok but doesn't strike me as being all that fast really. Guess we'll find out when he makes a break but I've not seen much evidence that pace is a huge part of his game

| On Frawley.
He was never signed as a flashy running HB. That's Croft's role.
He hasn't stood out, but he's doing a steady job.
He's always in and around the game.
Sezer used to go missing for long periods of time in games regularly.
At least you can see that Frawley is actually playing.

Which part(s) of Jack's game do you think might see him selected ahead of Frawley?

Agree re your point about second rows. For me Martin starts, but I'd let Bentley & McDonnell battle it out for the other slot. Ruan (if he can do it consistently) offers us size, athleticism and a bit of skill off the bench. I think Rohan should be brave and stop picking middleweight middles.

| Overall a good win, not a flashy display but its not surprising with the lack of field position we had. Defence was great again, team really seems to be working for each other.

I think Jack is a better runner at times, he can be quite dangerous in good ball and is smart at finding a gap. He is a goal kicker too unsurprisingly.
Frawley much stronger at this time in D and in organisation though.

I’m quite liking Ruan as a bench player at present. I always think on the bench you should have players the opposition don’t want to see come on when they are fatigued.
For me personally McDonnell should be the starting 11 on the team, and the real selection is between O’Connor and Bentley as the hoover player. Ackers can play 80 and arguably should.

| Crazy how much hype Ruan is getting. Couple of nice touches on Saturday but people are acting like he came on and changed the game.

| I think although our defence in stopping tries and breaks has been good, it is very passive, meaning we start most sets from deep and struggle to get out of our own halves. I know it won't happen under Rohan but I'd rather get in there faces more, so we are starting sets on our 20-30m line, not our try line.
I get the argument both ways with Frawley. He seems to be control things without errors or missed tackles. I would have hoped his kicking would be better, but accept it is difficult when most kicks are coming within your own 30-40m line. Hopefully, with better field position, his kicking will be better.
Croft, Handley, Ackers, Smith and Newman no complaints. Robert's solid but not spectacular.
Momorovski has so far been solid but quiet. I'm hoping he will get more involved and offer more as the matches go on and the pitch dries. I would like him to take more out of yard carries, as he looks like a big and difficult person to put down.
Miller, you can see on his day might be untouchable but likewise, he looks to have errors in him and not convinced he is the best defensively.
Bentley, I have prior mentioned that I do not rate. I would prefer Ruan, as he seems better in yardage and more difficult to put down.
Rhyse has been solid but not at his best for mine. Would like to see him do better in yardage and run some better lines. McDonnell I like as he is an aggressive defender and makes good metres from running good lines.
Prop wise, difficult to tell as they are never all available at once. Sangare needs to be tougher and make less errors. Holroyd needs to stay fit and we need Oledski back and in form. Lisone needs a good stretch of games too.

| I think should the RL gods look down on us and bless us with Mik, Holroyd Lisone and Sangare being available in one game we look scary. I was one to slate the Frawley signing but I think he's doing the graft Sezer didn't, looks comfortable in D and agree his kicking will come with better field position. Croft is really starting to shine, didn't quite expect his defensive efforts to be so good, and he's certainly growing into the shirt. Ackers is outstanding and I think we need him on for 80, he can do it and he just offers so much more dynamism, plus he's a solid tackler. I think the player I've been most impressed by is Goudamond though, he's so solid and gets through plenty of tackles, doesn't make the metres but will happily take the ball in if our halves need more time to organise, green shoots are showing!!

| Last try; Great pass to Handley - too high to intercept by a hands breadth. Dummy and a short pass and Sangare is under the sticks tho.
