Interesting that Leeds, Wire and Saints all won this week following cup semi appearances, regardless of the cup games probably having been given priority. Contrast this with the performance of a club whose sole interest lies in the playoffs who were beaten at home by a somewhat limited Huddersfield side. Perhaps it's just the frequently-seen tendency of the league leaders to fall off the pace just as other clubs are hitting the gallops?

Maybe its because we played the better team out of all 4. We lost to a limited Hudds side but between you managed to beat Wakey, Cas and Celtic......well done! Also how did the other cup semi team do? Or does that not meet your argument so you negelcted to mention it?

When did you beat 5 of the top 8, between February and May? That will be a real help in September and October.

Or perhaps it's the fact that the other 3 teams were playing terrible opposition whilst Wigan were playing a good team coming into good form?

Again daft we can only play team as the fixture list states so we beat them at home when we played them.

Who cares what they think, let them think were falling off the pace. I do however suggest they look at our latest results if they honestly think that.

Before the weekend, did you honestly expect to put 60 on Bradford? I know I didn't expect us to beat Cas easily. And although Hudds could be described as a good team, would you be happy if Saints lost at home to them at this stage of the season? Particularly if you'd been touted as GF favourites for much of the year.

so lets dismiss what you said about the cup then.

It's not a difficult concept, even for someone from Wigan. Recent form suggests yuo have been struggling to beat teams in playoff positions at the DW Stadium. As you will have to play those very teams at that very stadium to reach the GF then that must surely be a worry? Is a victory over a top 8 team back in March really a consolation?

If it's not a worry then fair enough but I would suggest few teams in the top 6 will fear a trip to Wigan.

Its difficult because its totally irrelevant. We played 5 of the top 8 before mid may at home and beat them. We cant do anything about the fixture list. If we had lost to you and Hull away yes I would worry but we beat you both easily so am not worried about a blip.
