If Merrin does sign - I personally think the Wayne Bennett comment is just a bit of gamesmanship - does anybody have any idea what sort of cap space we may have left?

Personally I think merrin would play 2nd row/loose so for me we would still be looking for another 2nd row and a prop.

I expect mullally to leave tbh and although olejdski has lots of potential I don't expect him to play anything like as many minutes as last season with us and actually think I loan may be useful. I also think merrin would be used in the 2nd row/loose.

That would suggest a big hitting prop is a possibility?

Bennett is joining Souths next season now, so the Merrin deal will probably be dead in the water.

That seemed the logical thing to be done for both clubs.

Regards Merrin, would be a shame but if he is not 100 percent committed to coming here then we are best served looking elsewhere anyway for the money he would command.

Personally I would have been getting Sutton and Jennings from south's as the both worked with furner and both left out of the squad for 2019 roster Sutton is a great leader
