Absolutely. But not to Manfredi standard, who is way at the top. Would have been a shoe in International over last couple of years but for his unlucky injuries. For you though, also likely to have been in NRL by now, so a loss either way.

Wayne Bennett: "Trent Merrin contacted me last Sunday & said he was being pushed out of Penrith & they had a deal for him to play in England for the next few years. Trent said he would prefer not to go to England and he rang me looking for advice"

If this is true, then Merrin isn’t our man. He will become homesick very fast, not play very well and then be granted a release to Join South Sydney when Bennett takes over. There are some quality English props that we could be targeting for less money and would be more committed. Very sad that we can’t get any deals over the line, at least one commanding prop and a back rower, the rest we can deal with, I think Handley can go well on the wing.

I can accept Handley on the wing as I'd prefer us to make our big(ger) signings in the pack area.
