Stick with the top four for me.
Extending the season by adding in more teams is squeezing blood out of a stone with regards to goodwill.

| Winning at Wembley is a massive emotional drain as much as physical.
In 2014 With a much stronger side we lost all 4 matches post Wembley to end the season
In 2015, we lost 3 in a row post Wembley until the they think it’s Hall over try.
Last year wire lost 7/8 SL games around the semi and final including to us in last match.
With Covid and more games thrown it’s no wonder this lesser side looks knackered.
We are down to 3 props one being Holroyd Who is 19, Mik is still 21.
Wigan have g Burgess, clubb , flower, partington, Byrne, bullock, Clark and Havard. That’s 8.I might have missed one as well.
We are running on fumes.

Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |
|
| Pitt’s, Koppy, Gwaze isolating still for wakey.
Ashurst, Gigot, Brough, Arundel and Kaye season ending injuries. Possibly Navarette too.
Kirmond and Atkins I think may have left the club early but not sure.
Johnstone, Tupou, Lyne, Jowitt all being rested on Sunday.
15 players rested or not available and a lot of young lads in Croft, Bailey, bowes, Aydin look like they could get a run or make debuts.
Could be a good chance for Leeds to make amends but I’m hoping some fresh legs on the wakey team despite the inexperience will help us do the double.
Hopefully it will be a good game. Gutted I might not be able to watch it.

Pretty much what we should have done last night by playing some of the younger lads alongside those that were able to tie up their boots after the Cas game.
If we go with the same as last night despite you resting some players we will still get beat.

The thing about these short turnaround games is they’re often hard to predict. Could go either way really.

| Someone mentioned about expanding the playoffs. Let's go with top 5 and "expand" it back to what it originally was before they reduced it. Maybe once it's top 5 it can be reduced to top 3 before the end.
They don't have a clue what they're doing and the season now is an uneven unfair rabble of crap.

I agree , the fixture back log for us is beyond ridiculous as is how its been played out.
Warrington havent played for a fortnight yet we've played 4 times & are due to play again tomorrow.
The RFL could & should have adjusted the fixtures more imo or even specified certain fixtures should involve reserve teams to help ease player burnout.
I understand its a tough situation but the lack of flexability & common sense is ridiculous.

| Cant really get my head round how we are playing 4 and 5 games while some teams havent played a game in that time.
Catalans have a full time squad, a reserve team that plays in the French league, a youth set up and can surely drag players in on loan from any French club to cobble 17 players together. Why the hell arent they playing? Weve basically thrown games with kids teams to fulfill fixtures.
Why cant Cas play reserve players, youth players and loan from any of the Championship and League One players that arent playing just to get games played?

I don’t know Leeds situation but the reason Wakey have had a more congested last few weeks than most goes way back to pre lock down. At that point we were 3 games in hand on some teams, games that had to be played. Three doesn’t sound a lot but when games are already compressed then it gets really hard.
If it was similar with you plus a cup run that’s why I suppose. The Catalan one is odd but maybe there is an element of French law involved that trumps anything from the RFL?
Just write the season off, I have. You did well to get a CCup but be honest it won’t be one that rides high in your memories in years to come. Ditto the title, Saints will win it but all but the most blinkered of their fans will consider it a fairly hollow victory.
Put it this way, Trinity’s chances of winning anything in a season are very low but if ever there was a season where we did I wouldn’t want it to have been this one.

| The challenge cup win of this year will be fondly remembered for many years to come due to how far off we were 18 months ago along with a very memorable win over Wigan in the semi.

| We have just had Batchelor and Crowther drop from the 21 too through injury.
Looks like Leeds will be facing a very different Wakefield team with a lot of young players in.
Isolating
Pitt’s
Koppy
Gwaze
Injured
Brough
Arundel
Kaye
Ashurst
Johnstone
Jowitt
Tupou
Batchelor
Crowther
Gigot
Wood
Not sure about Kirmond and Atkins but may have already left.
With at least 14 players missing including the full back line and starting second rowers and 9 I will be suprised if we win this one.
With all the young lads in too it’s massively in Leeds favour this one.
Not that you’d think that with the media reports pre match about how Leeds are doing it tough.

| I'm surprised the concept of a double header wasnt considered. We could have played Cas and Wakey with 4 points on offer instead of 2, rather than play them twice in a week.

Rhinos Hang On For Narrow Win Over Trinity
After a fantastic 30-4 victory for Wakefield Trinity over the Leeds Rhinos on Thursday evening, the two sides met again in a re-arranged round eleven game at the Mobile Rocket Stadium in Wakefield.
Both coaches made a raft of changes to their starting line-ups and benches, most notably the Rhinos were without captain Luke Gale who was rested.
Wakefield were slight favourites with the bookies, the Rhinos given a two-point start on the coupon, possibly as a response to last week’s loss, and possibly a reflection of the number of changes that coach Agar had made. Leeds needed the win to maintain their push for the top four, should tomorrow’s meetings require such a finish to make the play-offs.
