| As much as I'd love to see him stay, it won't break my heart to see him leave. I don't think he has shown his full potential yet, but he has hardly set the world on fire.
The reality is that we can't keep every single player that shows potential and give them all game time every week. We are not struggling in the forwards so someone is going to miss out every week, and I don't think he is ready to take over as a permanent first team player yet.
If he thinks he can get more game time elsewhere, he should go to pastures new. But I doubt any of the big clubs are going to give him a first team shirt straight away.
If Wigan are offering more money, then so be it. They obviously have different ideas on where to spend their player budget than we do. I'm sure whatever Leeds offered is a fair assessment of how much they value him as an asset.

| Flipping heck a sensible post?
At the end of the day you provide the best environment you can; you pay fairly and then if that’s not enough for some individuals so be it.
We don’t know the full story with Sam there could be other reasons he’s going - we did sign him very young from Widnes when their academy collapsed so there was always some risk in this.

| He obviously wants to be closer to home.
Big club like Wigan have offered him a good deal.
It is what it is.
Bit like when Bentley came to us.
But Bentley was getting more game time at Saints and was further on in his development.
Saints would have preferred to keep him, but he wanted to come to his home town club.
Saints have moved on.

| I wonder whether Walters simply thought he would work better with Peet than he has done with Rohan Smith? Smith is an interesting character - not sure what to make of him and get the impression that a few Leeds fans feel the same. On one hand, he's innovative, never gets fazed and took you to a GF. But perhaps not the most personable bloke - seems prickly with the media at times and has already fallen out with one of the team's star players. Put it like this - I'm not sure it would take much to get on his bad side.

I think that`s a fair assessment of Smith imo too.
I may be wrong but he looks like a good assistant coach or needs some experience supporting him as a coach.
I do think he has the potential maybe a bit like Wellens at Saints.

Correct, I don’t think Walters has been given a decent run to show his ability or lack of. As a Leeds fan I certainly can’t work out smith , Peet has impressed me , personally I think he is a vast improvement on wane.

| perhaps a coach like seth could enlighten me.
can you see a plan? a structure? it seems to be just play what's in front of you. maybe it's me but I can't see where we are heading, what we are aiming to do.
is this how smith coached in Australia?
