Chuckles at the irony of your statement. Correct me if I'm wrong but did you finish in the bottom four? If so then not the game to judge anybody using your criteria.

| Quote: ThePrinter "Although it was bad last night I don't ink their discipline has been as bad under Neil Jukes. Still a team with plenty of Paul Rowley signings who seem to be the worst culprits. Even though they worked together Jukes is a different personality (seems a very sound nice guy) compared to the arrogant style of Rowley. The signings a coach makes often show a side of him (McDermott with workhorse guys, Wane with passionate Wigan guys). With Jukes only taking over just before the season started then he's got to build his own team and yet to be seen if those worst offenders with stay with a different type of player/attitude being developed over time.'"
Great post that Printer, that puts it into perspective.

| Credit where due, thought Leeds did really well last night given first 13 picked themselves and short turnaround from Sunday.
In the last game and half think Golding has looked sharper on attack than in past, as others have pointed out plenty of work to do with his defence.
Bit of food for thought, the 12 in front of him played almost whole game until sutcliffe's injury got better of him and despite him starting injured, those 12 were perhaps most athletic and strong in defence a group as has played all year.
Moon and Sutcliffe in halves means you don't need to play hide the half.
Appreciate other limitations and not suggesting is the answer. However, I think moon is a better player than many halves mentioned on these threads that we may want to get.
Hull play Carlos, no.3 at stand off, he strikes me as very similar to Moon, although I reckon moon is a better RL player. At end of next year McGuire will retire, I think moon will be one of our halves by 2018 if not playing there next season with McGuire.
If we can't get a quality half in for next year and as others have said it won't be easy, I could see us going with Sutcliffe at FB, Jimmy k at 4 , moon and McGuire in halves, burrow reserve hooker, lilley reserve half.
Time will tell. Most of the range of Aussie halves In SL are either injury prone or nutty as a fruitcake or both.
A player with top class kicking range would be ideal but not from the limping, Binge drinking club.
Will uncle gary release the moths from the wallet of doom?

| Quote: Fallon "And I am an advocate of promotion and relegation so while you will be one of the favourites for the bottom 4 I hope you don't finish bottom. On last nights performance though your attitude was more championship than SL and you need to fix that.'"
Fallon, would you like to comment on our performances in our 3 victories over Salford, Hull KR & Huddersfield. ?
If I was to judge Leeds Rhinos after their 58-12 thrashing at Widnes earlier this season, I would have said that you were 'Championship One standard'. But what do I know ?

Sure thing. I didn't watch them. I did watch last nights game so I commented about that as I can only comment on what I've seen.
For what it's worth I understand you have played well in the middle 8s and your scorelines suggest an exciting brand of rugby. Last night though you were awful and I was expecting more rugby and less gamesmanship.
As for your widnes comment, as it turns out if you'd judged us on that you would have been right. 90% of our season has been awful. Draw your own conclusions about what that says of the quality of the middle 8s.

| I would have been dissapointed and frustrated as a Leigh, fan. You are capable of playing some top class rugby, but Thursday seemed more interested in making it scrappy at knocking ten bells out of Leeds. As well as whinging at the ref. Now part of this is personell, part of it is being a winning team where you get more leeway from the refs. If you can focus more on the good side of your game I bet fans from both Leigh and their opposition would be a lot happier.

| I'm sure Leigh were going out to win the game, but looked to me like a team that had run out of steam, which isn't a surprise. I didn't expect them to have their promotion wrapped up with a game to go so well done. I think that lead to a lot of the niggle because they were cooked. People are reading too much into this game. It was a dead rubber and our extra quality shone through. The the Leigh fans mocking us for being in the middle 8's...we know it's been a bad year. But don't disregard what this club has achieved. In the grand scheme of things, this has to be our come down season after being high for so long. And I'll take all those trips to Wembley and Old Trafford for a year of below standard performances

I'd say this is spot on. Yes, we gave too many penalties away. But most of them were as a result of us being knackered than over- aggression. The only other game we struggled with discipline was the first 20 minutes against KR. Other than that we've been fine.
Based on the quality you have, I'd guess this season has just been a blip for Leeds and you'll be top 4 again next season. Good luck

Ah, but success is all the sweeter after 11 years. (we did have a brief flirtation with SL, in 2005) Plus, we've had a good few trophies in the Championship to keep things ticking over. In fact, some of that Championship success, would have led to us having another spell or two in SL, had there been normal P&R.
By the way, from your name, you're not a supporter of Leeds United, are you? Now those were years of success, under Don Revie - please remind me how many years ago that was?

| Reading through the many troll infested threads on this forum I'm suddenly reminded of the following quote...
" Arguing with an idiot is like playing chess with a pigeon. It will poop all over the board and strut around as if it won"
I feel sorry for the genuine Leigh fans who have to put up with these trolls giving them a bad name.

| For all Leigh's gloating and bravado can i just point out that Batley brought more fans to Headingley and they performed better on the pitch too!!!
