Long played for St. Judes, but I take your point. I could tell you quite a few stories about him. He didn't last long coaching the academy at Wigan.

I’ve no idea what Long is like as a coach but he’s had a few different experiences and likely will be building knowledge and skills. He was of course a top player. He may also be able to advise a few younger players of what not to do as well as improving their game.

Also worth pointing out we’ve already got people on and off the pitch who have done much worse than Long in the past.

I think it’s an exciting appointment, one thing he can’t do much about is our team could do with more pace for mine.
