It never had the kind of historical weight of a real derby, but from 1999 to 2005 they felt like big games and big occasions. I do miss that. It's just another game to me these days.

They seem to have problems month after month, threads about CCJ’s & winding up orders are nearly as common as talking about the actual game.

Thankfully the decent crowd last week should keep the wolves from the door – for now.

Different perception to me then El , as it has always been a derby game of high intensity to me from my early days , maybe the crowds were bigger in the years you mention, although i'm sure there may have been bigger before my era

Quote: William Eve "I no longer give a crap about them.'"

You gave a crap when you cashed in with the cheapo season tickets which ultimately led to their administration.

Of course the Bulls stance on London that preceeded this didn't trouble you enough to stop you leaping at the bargain. Always nice to have high moral standards.

The 'Bulls' of today aren't the Bulls of even a year ago in terms of ownership and management. Who knows if the current administration would vote the same way?

Hopefully, and if they do have a more serious problem than they are admitting to at the moment, there won't be any newspaper stories from small independent local businesses who are owed large sums of money by the company due to their own poor financial management, once bitten twice shy and all that.

I really miss that intense rivalry that both of our clubs thrived on during our derby hey days of the early 2000's and seeing all those large attendances at both grounds

Anyone else miss these big derby matches with big crowds?'"

Not really. Huddersfield have replaced them at the top and their growing fanbase packs out the western terrace.

My personal opinion is that RL needs the Bulls, I don't see many replacement options out there. If we lose the likes of Bradford and Wakefield and other clubs are reliant on a single benefactor we are on the edge of a precipice looking down.

IMO losses of these clubs will either lead to a semi-professional sport with a few big players again or the slow demise of RL. Either way as fans w should be worried and no change back to a smaller league and P&R is going to stop the rot.

Quote: William Eve "I no longer give a crap about them. If they go to the wall and disappear then so be it. They are usually one of the first SL clubs on the scene when other SL clubs are in trouble, either attempting to vote a team out of the comp entirely (eg, London) or asset stripping struggling clubs of their players.

Their home attendances are currently 27.27% down on last season and their current average stands at 8797 compared to 12096 (as compared to the same 10 home fixtures last season).

The sport in this country is in a mess alrighty. We really could do without staging the World Cup this year.'"

The RLWC - how can you have a WC with 4 teams, two of which have zero chance of competing. The international game is dead in the water until GB can compete with Australia, something that has happened since the early 1970s, so that was 25 years before SL and 17 years after.

I fail to see how that is going to improve if we return to your advocated part time game played in the winter!!

The Bradford position in a travesty for a once great club mis managed within an inch of its life and one that is now being run day to day financially.

Losing 50% of the Sky money coupled with no home game revenue for 4 weeks has clearly knocked that day to day model over.

It would be a disaster for SL if this club died, anyone that thinks any different is a narrow minded fool.

That's the sort of calculation that ends up with the Inland Revenue appointing administrators. icon_lol.gif

So a given that greater majority of fans will standing on the Western Terrace where admission is only £20, lets be generous and say 2000 people have been lost that would take the attendance to 18,600 a high for the year. That would give a loss in revenue of 40,000 if everyone paid full whack.

The days of 22/3K+ crowds where well gone before the Bulls got into trouble
