Bateman would be a good signing for Hull, especially if Tickle is wanting to move back to Lancashire as rumoured. However, judging by his fury on Twitter today he hasn't signed for anyone else. I think a lot of clubs will be in for him, though.


Pearson has already stated that Hull have already signed 6 players for next season that they are unable to announce at this point in time, and are now only looking for 1 more prop and 1 more halfback. This makes it seem unlikely that we have signed Bateman as it sounds (again, judging by his twitter) as though he hasn't signed for anyone yet.

Perhaps John's response was a little less mature but when Chev made his SL debut, John was just short of his 6th birthday! So we have every right to expect CHev's reponse to be more mature! I wish all opur players expressed themselves like John. he's a fan who is seeing the only club he's played for, his hometown club, go under. cut him some slack!

I couldn't care less about any age difference, they are both professional players and should behave like it. One did, and the other didn't. I don't care if it's his hometown club and the only one he's ever played for. He behaved like a childish brat.

I agree with both to an extent. I agree with what you're saying, but while I don't necessarily blame the kid for his reaction, like many other people he needs to learn that a tweet is a public broadcast and is not the place for saying inflammatory things that you can't back up. His allegation of corruption was out of order. Say what you want to your mates, but not on twitter. He has over 3000 followers. Even a BDL knows that they are not all his mates. Being a "Human Being" means you are subject to the same laws of libel and slander as other "Human Beings."

He's been a pillock. He has every right to think what he likes, he can think they are all corrupt at the RFL and that Caisley is a burke, but as a professional player he has certain responsibilities, which he has not upheld with the way he has reacted. If a Leeds player had reacted like that, then I'd be very disappointed in him.

As the "great white hope" of the Bulls, he's likely to be a role model for a number of their younger, more impressionable fans who are likely to be amongst the 3,000 that follow him on Twitter. He should have known better before he said what he did, and someone (maybe Mick Potter) should have a word with him to get him to retract what he said before it lands him in hotter water.

I've lived through redundancies at work many times, it's part and parcel of the manufacturing industry in which I work. Although it's a particularly hard time for people, I've never behaved like he has.
