So according to that blog Bluey was serving an apprenticeship while he was coaching Leeds,and now he has been elevated to the status of rookie coach.Very nice  |

Did he?
Bell packed up at the end of the 1999 season to move into a similar role with Wigan. At that time Sinfield and I think JJB had already made their first grade debuts, while McGuire and Burrow were still at least 18 months away from breaking into the first team squad.
Bell may well have put structures in place that served the club well, but I'm not sure he can take too much credit for the development of young players in his two years in a youth role at Leeds. |

Your point duly acknowledged. Bell nevertheless takes a lot of the credit for putting those systems in place.
It's worth remembering that Sinfield broke through at a very young age. Some of the others may have taken longer to get into the first team, and I may be wrong, but I'd have thought many of them would have been there as juniors under Bell. |

Honestly Id like to be proved wrong.
Ive never heard him in person so cant comment on that. My view is based on seeing his TV interviews and reading the written word of his interviews (think this is in danger of turning into a disclaimer).
On that basis he fails to engage the audience, his tone is monotone and his eyes are fixed on the floor. Im no media trainer but he comes across lacking any umph.
Not disputing what he has got out of the players, more in the scond half of the season and I clearly said he should recieve recognition for that.
But personality... sorry, Ive never seen it.'"
