I agree Bailey WAS poor (missing two crucial tackles and singularly intent on provoking - his only game I guess). Lleulai was worse (his brain fart charge-in was unforgiveable esp in such an advantageous position).

My first season was 82 and Hull were the team to beat (with HKR). You're right, they weren't dominant overall for long but they dominated Leeds for an age. I missed the away win in 85 (the only game I did miss that year - I f****d my ankle up the day of the game) so had to wait best part of 6 years before I saw Leeds beat them. There was also the "generous" reception you always got at the Boulevard.

Assuming that was the case, the only thing worth concluding from that would be that due to Wigan's ERRORS they only won by a 10 point margin.

McGuire's performance on Saturday was awful and embarrassing. He was the weakest link, closely followed by Bailey and Leuluai. Webb's performance also stank but he did prevent the concession of an early try.

I also missed that game due to being seated on a train which split into two at York and I was seated in the wrong half which wasn't going to Hull. That's the one, Wednesday night. I fell down the steps of the Zoology building at Leeds Uni that afternoon and had my lower leg put in a cast. Kevin Dick, by all accounts, did what he was best at, taking his opposite number compeltely out of the game. Considering who that was it was some achievement.
I made it to Saints on the Sunday (with the usual high hopes) to watch us get absolutely slaughtered, Meninga was a pleasure to watch - sort of.
