I also remember when Eddie Waring used to commentate on under 16s RL in the early/mid 60s. Roger Millward was the star & he was even smaller & even faster than when he turned pro.
He was an absolute treat to watch.

I played the Ray French drinking game once, it was hilarious and we got absolutely tw*tted. Maybe we should create a Sky Sports commentary drinking game to liven up the neutral games on Sky. I'll start with rule number 1:

One of the the things they do that annoy me is to take one player and put him on a pedestal, leading them to over-praise everything they do. People like Farrell, Lyons, Pryce, Eastmond.

Heck, I remember them claiming that Graham Bradley was the greatest [iever[/i overseas import. That alone should show that what they say is to be taken with a truckload of salt.

As has been mentioned earlier in this thread Phil Clarke compared Eastmond to Lionel Messi during the game

If all you want to do is drink how about when Eddie or Stevo are annoying tw@s you drink, next Saturday and Sunday would be all dayers.

Being compared to Lionel Blair I could understand, at least I'd know who he is.
