well put! There are many people with real issues who still overcome adversity to make something of themselves and have so much to be proud of. Can't do with people like this tool with every excuse, lazy waste of space.

Nothing of any worth is it though?
Yeah I’ve got a mixed bag of a CV but its not got me any employment.
Quote DHM="the wicker man"You should thank your lucky stars you're not terminally ill...'"
I’d rather be terminally ill than terminally unemployed. The latter last a whole lifetime and therefore its drags on and on. The former you make the best of the time you have left because you have so little time.

| I'd have thought by definition being terminally ill also lasts a lifetime - just a shorter one.

I’m more than aware of what I’ve just said is controversial but its just my opinion right now. I’d rather have one month to live than ten years of unemployment if I was given the choice.
Unfortunately with me saying that people will want me to meet some people who don’t have long left so I feel more grateful for the time that I’ve been given. But what’s so good about been terminally unemployed unless you compare it to a situation worse than itself.
Nothing that’s what.

Man I can't understand how you don't have a job, you must interview really well.
What would you do with your last days. After all, you have loads of time on your hands at the moment.
On the subject of your CV, have you ever considered doing some volunteer work, at a local charity shop or something. It may not be paid, but it improves your CV, shows you want to work, gives you some skills, and gets you off your bum for a few hours a day.

I’d really enjoy myself knowing that I don ‘t have to look forward to years of applying for jobs I’m not (dead end and decent) going to get, cashing a giro at the post office and not having to spend time worrying about unfulfilled years in the decades to come.
Also I've done five months of voluntary work before.

I’ve had things tough on the employment front.
HTH.

| What do you care about Damo? What makes you angry? Not about your own lot but about other peoples?
I think the voluntary work is a good idea - especially if its to do with something you really care about as that makes you feel good about yourself and your life too as you're making a difference.
Twice in my life I've been unemployed - both times for over 6 months and its tough. It really grinds you down. Something like voluntary work could help.
Personally I suspect you'd be good with adults with learning difficulties or young people. - as long as you tempered being wacky with being responsible.

I really don’t know but it’ll come to me. When your self centred like myself its hard to think what makes you angry about other peoples injustice.
I once got involved with a group of conspiracy theorist but it was too extreme for my liking. I couldn’t drink anything at the meeting without getting dirty looks.
I’m lost in life and I’m not ashamed to admit it!

Probably grinded me down as well. On here people have probably notice a change in me since I’ve been unemployed for a while.
But I’ll have a think about what you said above and in the meantime off to ring the job centre to see if there’s anything new on the FJF complaint I sent in that’s going right to the top with the approval of local management.

| Why the fekk has this thread descended into a “look at poor unemployable Damo”?
This clown has the ability and opportunity to enter into a working life but seems to think that any job that isn’t paying him a couple of grand a month is beneath him then complains about being unemployed.
I’m quite successful with what I do and get paid reasonably well but if I was made redundant tomorrow morning I’d be serving Big Mac’s and fries by tomorrow afternoon.
Meanwhile there are now a generation of 35 to 45 year old ex-Rugby League players who have spent their entire lives becoming experts in a skill that they can no longer earn money from.
Is it their fault?
Should their respective clubs have done something to ensure they were not left on the employment scrap heap when their career ended?
I’m with Mr Chicken on this one – big daft lads that know no better.
