I found that interesting (it's a quiet day at work) so bobbed on to the Wasps site for a quick shufty, couldn't find any critical comment only a couple of questions asking how he was doing. Please post a link.

Do you think they've realised he's coming off the back of a short pre-season after the WC and a Full SL season with only a couple of weeks rest???

| I thought this was an odd signing for Wasps. They also signed Tom Varndel (already with England international experience), they have Walder playing well at 10 and are thinking of Cipriani at 15 (who for some reason they seem contractually obliged to play no matter how rubbish he is). They do seem to have a lot of backs in the squad, wheras they unloaded forwards. I can't see where Smith fits in. IMO he's already wayyy better than Cipriani, who only seems to be able to play behind the better pack, and who can't goalkick for toffee (oooh, when will he get his confidence back? Kelly Brooke has ensured he's marketable for another few years without ever putting in a decent rugby display, so Lee better get himself a celebrity bird asap).
And yes, I'm back from my yearly wonderful 2 weeks of torture in the US equivalent of Slough.

| Quote: TOMCAT "May be the Wasps are just taking the time needed to ensure a smooth transition between codes? Maybe it's a little early to predict that he won't make it? As to the amount he is being paid and whether that would put pressure to rush him into the first team, as I understand it the cap in union is circa £4.5M, if that's correct or close, I doubt they feel a great deal of pressure to rush his introduction into the first team. Good luck to the lad, he did well for us and I hope he adapts well to his chosen code.'"
Indeed
Remember how Widnes put Jonathon Davies in their A-Team for about half-a-season before unleashing him on the league ?
T'was only the Leeds of old that spend big money on a cross code player and then throw him straight in, only to see that player washed up and battered 9 months later his confidence shot to pieces.

20333_1393344959.gif Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_20333.gif |

| Lets hope he does sign for Wigan, a big loss to RL as he is a natural try scorer with a bit of in him which I like in a player.

| Apparently he's not in Wasps A team match tomorrow, so I'd guess he's either nowhere near playing or he could be in line to make an appearance for the first team very soon.
