| Well played,as a Saints fan we did ourselves no favours and were really poor in defence tonight. Not even going to bring the ref up as we shouldn't of been in that position anyway, the ref didn't miss tackles and let players run laterally and offload.

Top metre maker for a back in SL last year. He’s a decent player. Prone to odd brain fart but he’s no mug

| Leeming’s injury looked bad, fracture or ligament tear would guess but O’Connor has been great at 9. Johnson back playing now too although needs better luck.
We actually have a cracking team in the making now but they’re not there yet. I think we need a high quality FB for 2024, and depending on Lisone maybe another prop even. Other than that I’m looking forward to watching this young team grow.

Forget about 2024. Just enjoy what we have now, as anything could happen before then. We’re exciting to watch again and give 100 per cent. That’s literally all I ask for!

Its not a shoulder charge because he didn’t rotate the shoulder then wrapped his arm around, saints just don’t like it up em and their playerd and fan’s reaction was pathetic

| Nobody beats Leeds 13 times in a row. Was really in two minds about going this week but "just as you think you're out, they pull you back in." Honestly don't know what that means for the rest of the season. Despite the win I'd have to say Saints still beat us nine times out of ten. If we can kick on from this maybe we can develop the kind of confidence that will improve those odds. For once I'll actually watch the recording of the game but initial thoughts were: the middle unit really stood up, McDonald is a genuine strike runner, Sezer us great when he keeps it simple, and Saints fans need to realise when they've got it good.

| The result was a big surprise to me, the performance less so, in the sense that it wouldn't have been a shock to lose even though we played much better.
The best thing for the rest of the year was the fact our forwards really stood up to Sts. Sangare and Walters at times had much the better of Walmsley and co, particularly Sangare who seems to genuinely intimidate the opposition. I also liked the look of McDonnell. I'd pick him ahead of Donaldson any day of the week, particularly when Bentley can do all Donaldson does on defence but can add the odd good run as well. Mcdonald really adds an X-factor as well - brilliant work for Handley's try.
I'll admit that while I try to defend Leeming, O'Connor looked by far the better option at hooker, including his defence. Sezer just looked a different player with a pack holding its own and a hooker getting him the ball quickly and cleanly.
On the downside, we made too many poor errors. Olpherts' led to a try and Sangare's would have on another day. Tetevano's misread for Lussick's try was also poor. When Newman returns the player I'd drop from the backs is Fusitu'a. Olpherts at least runs the ball out with venom every time. For such a big guy Fusitu'a seems remarkably easy to tackle and he is really not that quick, as shown when Makinson nearly beat him to score from a kick.
Big result that we now need to kick on from.

Agree with nearly all of that. Think you are overstating Walters performance as in reality was only on the field for a very short spell, but was encouraging. Tetevano actually held the pack together and got through a ton of work.

| In that short time though Walters had key involvements in two tries and put that monster hit on.
I think the reason people like him and sangare should continue to get a place on the bench and get fans excited is they’re genuine game changers in the pack, who offer something we seem to have lacked for a few years now in genuine size and offload threat. A bit of aggression too that doesn’t go amiss.

Yeah true, but I think we also need to acknowledge (probably more kudos) the very solid player who plays 60 minutes out there (Tetevano)…..
