| Great game last night. Incredible effort but incredibly dumb play at the end. Not even setting up for a drop goal, an impossible offload on first tackle. We play smarter in the extra time and we win it. Not come away from a loss as pleased for a long time. Not sure why people seem to hate golden point extra time but it provides great drama

The refs need to clear the ruck/ ptb faster. All the laying on,wrestling and etc makes the player fight to get up.
It also makes the game slower, duller and yawning like

| Quote: Barrie’s Glass Eye "I think that really could be a galvaniser.
If we have even one ‘proper’ halfback on the pitch we knick that. Given the patched together nature of the side by the end I think I’d reserve critics of them not managing to get a drop goal over.
The only real negative for me was the obvious injuries. Also not one to blame the referee but I thought the Sangare try was inconclusive and should have gone with the refs call. Also didn’t see a punch thrown either but they only showed one replay.
Holroyd best prop on the field. Hard to bag anyone but we probably saw the best and worst of a couple of players. Myler does so much well but just doesn’t have that cutting edge organization. Walters was good but still very raw, a couple of overexcited offloads and a poor read on the sironen try. Sangare an awesome break and then a chase back but then a bad error.
Overall more positive and hopefully last two weeks show we’ve put the poor starts to bed.'"

That's weird since the cameras, ref and linesmen didn't see that, and even Lomax didn't mention it

It may be an oversimplification, but yes, just using the 6 again for what it was brought in for would be a start

I saw Lomax indulge in a bit of petulant sledging (every side does it) on Walters. McDonnell lost his temper, ran in and ending up pressing his forehead against Lomax's. So technically a headbutt I guess. Not sure if that was what he was sent off for though. At the time I thought penalty Saints and a sin binning for McDonnell, maybe both. In truth I don’t think it impacted the result.

Sent off for throwing a punch spotted apparently by the TJ.
I couldn`t see it nor could the cameras but seems the TJ did.

What? Beating a team who had 14 players for the majority of the match, losing their 2 starting halfbacks and their star centre?
The Saints fans I spoke to after the game didn’t seem very satisfied.

| It was a great effort by your lads on Friday. When all your guys started going down I was pretty confident we’d ease into a win by 2-3 scores but the effort and commitment of your players was unreal. I’d be made up with it if I was a Leeds fan. On balance, I thought you deserved the game more than we did but that’s sport. I felt the opposite when we played you in March so it’s swings and roundabouts. Gonna be a tough road for you now with all the injuries but I hope you make the play offs, always good for an upset and keeping the teams you play honest.
On another note it’s a shame you couldn’t keep hold of Walters. He’s not perfect yet by any means but he really does have the potential to be a top, top player. Gonna be horrible seeing him play for Wigan

I agree both games could have gone either way.
There`s certainly a resilience in the team.
We got some bad luck with the injuries and whilst both VR decisions were marginally correct I`ve seen them go the other way even with the involvement of VR.
Like to think we will see you in the GF

Well said mate and thanks. Nice to see a sensible discussion from rival fans

Your Neanderthal fans spent all game chanting obscenities at the St Helens players which was not a good look on TV. Your players spent all game trying to injure the St Helens players. Then your supposed hard men took out their frustrations on the smallest man on the pitch, Lomax.
That is why it was satisfying, to beat such a scummy club.
