| Sneyd was sin binned tonight for interference at the play the ball despite a Salford player pushing him into the ruck! Its a bad area of the game and needs sorting

| Our ruck speed was slow and ponderous, briscoes positional play and all round ability is woeful. Any opposition coach watching tonight's match will be looking forward to targeting his wing all night.
I am usually quite neutral on referees but tonight's performance was an absolute disgrace. The penalty award against hall was a shocker. But my biggest complaint is not pressuring the Warrington kickers.
Our kickers got hammered all night with or without the ball , considering the amount of ball and field position Warrington had ,the score my well have been substantially more. It's certainly turning out to be a strange season going by tonight's results.

| The middle couldn't contain the quick play the ball. When it came to the 5th no-one was in position to pressure the kick, allowing the halves to pick their spot.
Much as it seems fashionable to have a go at Briscoe I'm not sure what he coukd have done about either kick, though he was at fault for their third try by shooting in and leaving lineham a walk in

| Just typical we get a version of the real wire at home when they have been nothing like what they were tonight against us when playing other teams recently.

| I agree with Gotcha regarding Patton, we could definitely use him, young got skills, shame he wasn't in Smiths dog house a bit longer and we could try to poach him.
I think Wire definitely deserved it, but would have been a way different result if Caveman Westwood would have been sent off. He's such a dirty player. I think Childs is crap and the worst ref, but Reckon most of the Rugby Refs in this country wouldn't have shown a red as they all seem spineless to me.
I've defended Briscoe for a while now but think something may need to change, playing poorly.
All in all we're still 4 wins from 5, which is better than I expected, would have been a much closer game without Child, Westwood Incident, Sutcliffe been available after the 1st minute and their second try. Plus Wire were always gonna get that win at some point. I'm looking forward to having Galloway back soon. Tonight also shows how Singletons stupid hit against Bird impacts our squad as we could have done with him on bench tonight (same with Ferres, but his didn't seem as intentional)
Also didn't expect Hull to get done over like that at home #RadfordOut

Well positionally you could say that Briscoe should have been a bit further back to give him a better run up, you could also say that Watkins could have helped on a couple of occasions
The reality is though he just NEEDS to win some of those battles, either come up with the ball or get it out of play
They kicked to Hall a few times but found no real joy, because he has the strength and skill to come up with the ball under pressure

| That was a shocking performance from Child. Inept or corrupt I do not know which but he needs to be dropped from the list. The tackle on Sutty was as bad as I have seen in a long while. It looked totally deliberate with a hint of swinging arm and he should be suspended for longer than Ferris.
Child also was one-eyed in the way he awarded penalties for interference at the PTB as he ignored some blatant stuff from Warrington like markers not square and moving off the mark which he pinged us for. Many times they went to ground in surrender tackles but they was not called as such resulting in quick PTBs and scoots by the acting half back. Child should have checked the grounding for their try that wasn't a try as he checked everything else and why did he not check the assault on Sutcliffe with the video ref before deciding it was just a yellow card.
So the referee was a major factor in the defeat. That said we did not help ourselves with too many silly penalties plus the unfair ones that cost us possession and field position. Keinhorst and McGuire were under par and Watkins lacked concentration and Briscoe looked all at sea. We should have moved the ball wider when they were down to 12 men but our pack were not dominant and did not put their players on their backs enough so allowing quick PTBs and penalties however I thought they worked hard and put in a lot of tackles and we could have sneaked it had we had an organiser/kicker like Patton
I though Golding was our best player after another solid defensive display to which he added some nice touches on attack. We need some of the injured to return soon to allow some players to take a rest.

| Be interesting what happens next week if Golding and Sutcliffe don't recover, especially with Handley out for a few weeks with injury.

| Good job Leeds won the penalty count otherwise Child would be copping for some criticism on here.
If Leeds having only three props was such an issue I wonder how many Warrington had?
Patton and Gidley were the major difference.

| Interesting to see the general opinion here that Child was 'corrupt or biased'. Blue and amber tinted goggles, chaps. Leeds got away with far more holding down than did Wire, you were offside almost every other ptb and three or four blatant forward passes went unpunished. A fair result tonight, and respect to those of you who have graciously accepted that.

Watkins to FB with Moon going back to Centre with Burrow or Lilley moving into the halves.

Swings and roundabouts and all that.'"
Yes, those rugby gods.
Of course both Ferres and Westwood should have been sent off. Here's a thought. If the referee isn't quite sure and gives a player 10 minutes because the opposing player is injured, why can't the 4th official review the incident during that sin bin period.
If there is nothing in it, then allow the player back on the field immediately. However if it's like the two cases above he should inform the referee who at the next break of play issue a red card to the offending player.

| I have watched Leeds for 50 years & I know this game backwards. My point on last weeks Wigan thread said - " Briscoe is an accident waiting to happen - I do not understand why more coaches do not kick him to death " . Clearly Tony Smith must read these threads.
In a nutshell , our squad is full of weaknesses - no class halfback / a full back who cannot link on attack ( i know his defence is first class , but a full back is now like another halfback ) / our back three are all past their best - painfully slow / our backup players are substandard eg. Walters was abysmal tonight .and Mullally no better.
On top of this our coach is clueless - tonight why start with Burrow , why drop Baldwinson against a pack of their size - decisions that do not make sense - to add to his long list.
I thought Warrington were their for the taking tonight, but when you make as many mistakes . play as badly and have to fight the ref as well, you really are not going to win the battles that matter. One other thing , our discipline is crap - how noticeable , that once we got a team warning, we then stopped giving away penalties - this is again down to the coach & a few serial offenders - we all know who they are.
People talk about a transition period , but this squad has so many holes in it, it needs a hell of a lot of work & several new players , plus of course , a new coach.

| Westwood is a thug who has done things like this for years. His cheap shot on Blake Green in the Grand Final in 2013 was overshadowed by Flower a year later but should have been the first GF red card. He likes to get his cheap shots in early in the game.
I expect a long ban to come his way but have no confidence in this actually happening. Far more dangerous and aggressive than Singleton on Bird.

| Did anybody else notice this was Leeds in playoff practice mode?
6 or 7 'desperate' plays is not an accident and Sinfield / McGuire used to have these games mid season where they tested stuff.
Good efforts, Delaney was great btw.
