| We have some repeat offenders right now that will lose us tight games against the better sides. I do like Miller going forward though. If he can steady his play a bit in our 20 he’ll be a weapon.

| On the first try it would have been far more advantageous to have been given the penalty try, imagine losing by a point. Handley clearly would have scored without being fouled as he managed it with being fouled. Kick infront of the sticks could have been vital. As he didn't have possession I presume he couldn't be in the act of scoring, so couldn't have the additional penalty like the Newman score.
I guess you always have to check for the try first but what happened benefited the team committing the foul.

| It seems like if a try is scored, all is forgiven. If a penalty try couldn’t be guaranteed, then it should have been a yellow card.

| Just thinking how much sharper we look now with Croft at 6 and the distribution from Ackers. Croft is better than I expected in some ways.

Humans, male/MALE16.JPG The past is full of regrets
The future of unknowns
We must live in the present.:Humans, male/MALE16.JPG |

| Quote: kjrhino "In response to Martin to the NRl.. i personally don;t see what he offers the team.. barely runs it in, if he does usually backs in to the tackle.. if it wasn't for his (usually) good kicking then he isn;t much better, if at all, than mcdonnell who i think should be in ahead of bentley et al every week.
We do have some puddings in the team, Sangare is one of them.. for his size he doesn;t do much for me. Bentley has endevour but there must be better out there for the money.
Agree on Fusitua... great when fit... fit being the operative word.. gone miss at least 1/3 of the season again..
Think we are missing some real biff up front.. we need a Barrie Mcdermott style prop..
Will ake a judgement on MoM and Frawley after 8/10 games... but to be honest i think they are gonna be duff signings.
Frawley was pants at Hudds and not much better in the NRL.
Saints and Wigan have much better squads.
A finish of 4/5 is probably our best expectations with our squad... we just need players to actually run onto the ball and not take it stationary.'"
What we really need is a few more top fans like KJR Rhino, with support from the likes of him we would (I am sure), win everything every year, Maybe even Gary makes him head coach, if his/her predictive ability is as good (pre) judgement maybe he could see a special recruit.
FWIW, 4th/5th is rather what I am expecting as it shows progression from 23, Good entertaining rugby such as we had on Saturday would be progress. The difference being if this happens I will consider my season ticket money well spent.

A penalty try isn’t an 8 point try, you have to take the kick where its ‘scored’ and don’t get another go

A penalty try is awarded between the sticks. A penalty try can't be awarded though if the try is actually scored. So in that sense a penalty try more or less guarantees you 6 pts, which, everything being equal, so does an "8 pt try".

One big thing I've noticed is that the guy who is kicking the ball is the guy who is meant to be kicking the ball. How often in the wilderness years of Leeming, Dwyer, Sezer and Austin did we get to the sixth and find a prop or second row trying to manufacture a kick. The new spine are miles better already. As the grounds get firmer we are going to see a lot more from them.

| Agreed Arthur, we just need the pack to make enough ground for them to have the time to put good quality plays on, without that it will be the right players getting the ball but the play will be hurried or a clearance kick instead of an attacking one.

| I actually think Ruan might be the bit of punch we’re missing in an otherwise workmanlike back row.
Miller and Mom will be fine, they have class but are adapting. Frawley has been what I expected. Croft and Ackers clearly have some class. Goudemand solid.
I don’t for the life of me understand the people that bag Martin. Nothing flash but 7/10 every week even not taking into account his kicking.

Yes I get that but it's almost like Handley would have been better knocking on, getting a penalty try and a kick in front..

"Leeds is the greatest club in Rugby League"
Alex Murphy 2011: |

Frawley doesn’t seem to be a running half back, one that’s gonna keep defences guessing, so I was hoping his kicking game was gonna be a bit better than he shown in the first 3 games. It’s been disappointing to say the least, but we’ve got away with it so far. As for Mom, he’s been under the radar the first 3 games, nothing terrible, took a couple of catches but nothing to make you say wow. He seems happy to let Handley do the hard work and carry the ball out of defence at the moment, I’d expect him to start showing a bit more appetite in future games. Early days, but I’d be lying if I said either player has caught my eye for the right reasons.

| Think your being overly harsh TBH
Momorosvki is a very ‘smart’ RL player, he’s not a flashy player but will make the correct decisions more than not, he’s a proper wingers centre and defensively very strong he will be s great signing.
Frawley is doing his job and will let croft do his thing. Against Cats we had pretty much zero field position so was constantly kicking from deep.

| Thing with Frawley is that he does have Jack Sinfield breathing down his neck.
