What are Merrins playing strengths?

Big body, decent go forward, excellent offload....

We need a big prop that can do the hard work,whichever we go for needs to be top drawer

Couple players like that, plus a fully fit Peteru, cuthbo back to his natural game, plus if we retain Garbut and he and ward can both stay fit. Then that looks a very good pack.

But the couple more (assuming you mean 2 more in addition to Merrin) would have to be UK players as otherwise we’d need to cut 2 of Cuthbo, Parcell and Garbutt if bringing in 2 more overseas players on top of Merrin

For me we need to look to British assuming our next signing is overseas. Splash a bit of cash to prize one or two away from our rivals

I’d agree but easier said than done in today’s age where there isn’t many big Uk transfers of contracted players between clubs

Make a play for big Al at saints. He grew up a Leeds fan and always wanted to play here, Saints have an abundance of Props and Second rowers.

No i meant merrin and one other probably a back rower uk or other

I still think Leeds lack a Chris Hill type prop - someone genuinely big and hard to put down, tough. There are a handful in the UK but more choice from Aus. Merrin is more of a ball player ideally.

I still think we’re rewlly short in the back row. JJB, Ablett, Ferres, ward etc are too old/injury prone to be relied upon.
