Just seen a video on Twitter of Jessie Bromwich and JWH being quizzed about England, they were asked who did they follow in SL - Both answered Leeds, Bromwich because he's played against Leeds 3 times, JWH because he has family in Leeds who are all 'staunch Rhino supporters'.

Based purely on how souths played in attack last year, which is credited to furner, the best ball player in there pack, John Sutton, played left second row and was a massive part in what they did. If Furners wanting to implement a similar style here then Stevie Wards ideal for that role, Cam Smith would also do well in that role with his ball playing ability. I agree Cam Smith is our long term 13 but think he learn a lot from Merrin and stilll get plenty of game time while he's learning.

Hmm I suspect Merrin, if he comes, will be played at prop TBH. How many backrowers do we need? Unless others are going (Ferres, JJB, Ablett). I do have faith that Furner and Sinfield have a plan, whatever happens.

Also it’s been reported in several places that Fensom is a done deal - and he is a backrower. Could we even unlock the pies cupboard and see Ferres at prop?

Yeah he may well play prop if signed, but like i mentioned earlier, if we'r bringing in a star signing, id be looking at playing him in his best position.

Peter Smith claims Fensom isnt signed, he's usually pretty accurate, but who knows.
Id say we'r equally stocked at prop as we are at backrow at the min, based purely on confirmed announcements, from last seasons first team squad we'v got:

Garbutt, Singleton, Crosby, Peteru, Oledzki, Mullally, Ormendroyd

7 each and Cuthbertson can play either. Like you say, plenty will happen over the coming weeks, but right now i think both areas need some real quality added.

Whilst reading someone else's link about Shaun Johnson I noticed a headline saying Furner is interested in Trent Merrin. Decent player but can't see it happening not least than his missus is a World Class Surfer and doubt she'd fancy swapping Sydneys beaches for Whitbys. Love the way other NRL players now say "he's batting Merrins" when they talk about someone punching above their weight. Look at his missus and you'll see what they mean!
