Yeah, great start so far it has to be said. They were being very clever weren't they saying hardly any movement expected this offseason a few weeks back..
It needed doing, and more work is needed over the next 12 months if we are to get back to title winning contenders but it's a good start. I suspect this season's poor show was the final straw in terms of a lot of patience around the club from the SLT..

| Mulhern wouldn’t come back to Leeds to be a bit part player when he’s a very important player where he’s currently at, although I would be very pleased if that were to happen, you are more than likely looking at a Eseh Jr type.

Maybe, maybe not. Most people on here were happy with the last round of Smith signings apart from Frawley.
I am not questioning any of the departures so far aside from Martin, and I appreciate we have to start somewhere. But successful sides are seldom built on wholesale changes like this. If they were, Warrington would be 10x SL champions by now.
My hope is that there is sustained improvement so that making the play-offs is a minimum expectation rather than the focus of the last third of the season. I would also hope that a few younger players are successful in winning first team places during the season - so that less drastic surgery on the squad is needed in a year's time and recruitment can focus on a smaller number of quality acquisitions/replacements.

| While Arthur might be at Leeds between NRL gigs, if he wants to make a real impact he can't afford to faff around with substandard players. There have been too many of them around the club for years and years.
That's why I like the fact that most of the contracts we're signing are just 2 years. We can always move to extend even during the first year if things are working out, but the message needs to be that all players need to earn deals.

| This is why I never bought the "we don't have much cap space" line. Even though no doubt we will have some players receiving upgrades, there was always going to be a good amount of cap space available.

| If correct I don't believe we should be close to the cap.
Fusi, Martin and Momo will have been on a big chunk plus Hall gets academy dispensation and new third marquee allowance ?

| Connor admitted to taking a pay cut to come, which presumably was to get the second year and a better shot at making the team. Still not cheap, but won't be mega bucks either.

| Well spotted.
Agree with batley.
13 out and 5 in doesn't add up and while we have made good signings we haven't made any break the bank huge signings

| It's not been 13 out this off season.
Myler & Hooley left before last season
Olpherts left 2 games into this season so effectively we've released 10 players this off season and brought 5 in so far it'll soon be 10 released & 6 in when Momirovski is confirmed as released and Sivo is announced.
I believe we will still have some cap to plat with but we have to remember this isn't a fantasy league and blease was brought in to sort our salary cap out because it was in some mess. Just to put it into contexts I was told when Lachie Miller had signed at Leeds he is on £260,000 a year on a 3 year contract now Miller isn't a bad player but imo he's not a £250,000 plus player per season so I'd imagine some of the deadwood we have recently released such as Sangare, Goudemand and others would have been on more than they we're worth.
Sivo should be announced this week/ next along with Momirovski and I believe the club will try bring in another body at prop and out recruitment for 2025 will be done.

| Myler, Hooley and Olpherts were released at short notice prior to the season commencing without any replacements weren't they?

First off let me say that you're perhaps the only poster on the site who seems to have a genuine pipeline into what's going on at the club. However, I'll eat my daughters wellingtons if Miller earns the money you've quoted above. 250k for an almost novice full-back! GH would never shell that out, surely? Agree re the additional prop though. Think that would represent a very productive period of recruitment.
