We played brilliantly against Wigan in the semi. I just scratch my head about our shape and ability to play what’s in front of us sometimes. We really struggled to break Cas down when they had 12 men: we get 12 men and Wakey get to the edges and score tries within minutes.

Too many times players out of position, over-running plays, chucking it anywhere or not thinking enough.

Definitely some fatigue in there but maybe Sean Long will make a difference.

Then there’s the squad itself: I’m leaning toward 2 new decent signings now, probably 6 and 10.

We will need more patience but I do think there is a great crop of young players coming through now, and they will improve. On that basis alone the side can hardly fail to get better over the next few years.

What’s your excuse for whining then?

The reason we won the cup is because we won the games we needed to win to win it and the club deserves credit for that, it’s as simple as that

Im not getting carried away and if you take your own advice and read what I write you would see that.'"

Well said Christopher though I fear there’s no talking to them. Very blinkered in their constant criticism

Fair post is that and agree with large parts of it. There’s lots of room for improvement and I agree with your areas of recruitment going forward. A bloody good prop is vital for next season if we are to push on.

I was going through with a mate of mine our young players players who have huge promise yesterday and it’s very heart warming when you see just how many we have. It’s the best for a while

Totally agree on getting another very good prop, I think one more and we have a really strong pack going into next season.

I was actually a big fan of Lui, I think he does (or maybe did) a lot of work that doesn't look flashy but is effective - however I am now starting to think we need a 6 who is a bit more dynamic and more importantly has a bit more speed.

What we'd give for a Young Danny McGuire again eh!

I agree with this, I like Lui.

If we sign another prop he has to be top drawer. Otherwise Oledski, Prior, Seumanufagai, and Holroyd are doing a good job to be honest, if not good enough to challenge the best teams every week.

Cameron Smith looked great pre-lockdown but hasn't been the same since. You'd have to agree that Donaldson and Thompson get into the team ahead of him on form at the moment.

I also agree with the comments about Agar picking the wrong team for this one. We should have used a lot more of the 'baby Rhinos' in this one, especially some of the more physical bigger lads.

Definitely Christopher. Lui is doing a solid job, does look very decent at times but it’s not enough to spring us forward to being title contenders. A class 6 would be very much welcome over the next season or so

I think we are in a reality check of where we currently are. There have been some strong performances this year and one outstanding one against Wigan. The club has clearly moved on but is still some way short of contending consistently as the best team in the competition which should be our ambition. Clearly we need another top class meter making prop who brings a bit of an intimidation factor and then happy with the back up in the pack with potential of the young players. 6 for me is a problem and I do not routinely like criticising individual players There is talent and ability in Lui but to me he is not fit and plays at best at 75% (ccsf excepted) this creates problems for our outside backs against good teams as they slide their defence closing down space. With an organising half back like gale we need a 6 who can put people into space but also challenge the defence by taking on the line. Lui could potentially be that player talent wise but not the version we are currently seeing.

Think weve done well this year and are on the right path again at least. Think we all can see that a couple of top class players in key positions and we will really be back in business.

Ive nothing against Lui, he came in when club was struggling and has helped the club. We are a better team when he plays i think but a top class pacy 6 would take us up another notch. A top prop also would help. The youngsters will get better too over next 12 months.

In terms of Agar ive always thought we need him to do what Powell did, stabilise the club and develop players and i think hes doing exactly that.

Whether club has the funds to add to the group with real quality we will see but lets not forget the club is heading in the right direction again.

Candidly the last game Leeds were excellent was against Wigan in the semi final. We won the challenge cup but did not play great. I think we need to accept that players are human beings, and we have had little or no rest for weeks. Maybe we should just call it a day this season and let the guys have a rest. They need a break.
I had a go last night of one of the people who was there. I blamed Agar for the team he picked, he rightly pointed out 6 games in 17 days, and with hindsight he should have mixed up the team with bringing in more kids. The RFL have helped no one with how the league is panning out. they should immediately cancel the games that are left, have a two week break and start whatever end of season tournament. If you cant play the game due to covid you lose the game.
Regards the players i thought Lui played OK last night, he was never going to be a long term fix but did OK. we was short in the forwards last night, they were out on their feet in the first half. I do have some concerns with Leeming and Mellor they are not playing well but maybe we are being too hard on them. We have the challenge cup, I am not bothered about the Covid trophy, lets wait until next season and see what happens.

Wonder how many fans would want the Top 4 playoff extending if we was 4th? Seem to be hearing plenty of 'lets end the season and extend the playoffs'

Surely if people wanted the season over a shorter playoff would be better?

Maybe im being mischievous here tho.

I’d say finish the season and have a top 4 or 6 playoff even if we weren’t involved, all players of all teams are getting flogged

Well maybe not the Catalan players.

I wouldn’t be fussed if they just let Saints, Wire, Wigan and Catalan bate it out for the title

Warrington have had a really nice rest as well. They’re in good shape heading into the business end. Season can finish for me and playoffs beginning with or without us

Warrington, saints and cats have all had a bit of 'luck' e.g have we had a team play us that has obviously forfeited the game by playing weakened sides - I'm not playing a sympathy card its just been the luck of the draw

I would be tempted to partner Gale and Mclelland in the remaining games.Lui is contracted for next season so i dont see us going for a 6.Lets see how Mclelland goes with with an experienced half and our best pack.
